Guangdong Zhanjiang Tongming Village Xuanfeng Temple.

Xuanfeng Temple in Tongming Village was built by Tonglong, the general of Baigezhai, in the 14th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1586), and was rebuilt by Xu Mengxun, the general of Baigezhai, in 1609. It was partially rebuilt in the 49th year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1710) and the 36th year of the Republic of China (1947). The brick column lifting dye structure, three halls and two worship pavilions, covers an area of 591.6 square meters. The front hall has three entrances and three openings, with a depth of 9 meters in the front hall, 9.55 meters in the main hall, and 8.9 meters in the rear hall. The main hall worship pavilion has a hard mountain top, 5 meters wide and 4.8 meters deep; the rear hall worship pavilion has a rest mountain top, 4.5 meters wide and 5.1 meters deep. The temple plaque "Xuanfeng Temple" is said to be the imperial seal of Emperor Kangxi. The main hall of Xuanfeng Temple enshrines two statues of the Holy Queen Xian and the Holy Mother Lin Xiniang, and the rear hall enshrines wooden carvings of Guan Yu, Guan Ping, and Zhou Cang. One temple worships two gods, which is rare in China, reflecting the characteristics of this place as a coastal fishing village and an ancient military station. Xuanfeng Temple currently has seven pieces of Ming and Qing inscriptions: one iron bell in Jiaqing year; two pairs of celebrity handwriting couplets; one stone carving "Cherish the Word Pavilion"; and a large number of exquisite wood carvings, including three types of through carvings, relief carvings, and round carvings. The carving work is exquisite, reflecting the level of architectural scattered wood carving craftsmanship in Leizhou during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and has high artistic value.
