As natives of Guangzhou, we spent nearly half of last year living in Lijiang. This place, where one can gaze upon snow-capped mountains when looking up and see wildflowers when looking down, I am pleased to call it my second home. Lijiang, a city that never ceases to surprise with each visit. As autumn arrives, Lijiang enjoys many clear and sunny days, offering a crisp view of the snow mountains. The gentle sunshine, accompanied by a refreshing breeze, marks the perfect season for a visit. Here are nine lesser-known scenic spots that I, as a semi-local, would like to share: p1-p2: 📍Wenhai, it evokes the feeling of Yili, Xinjiang. Herds of cattle graze freely on the lakeside meadows, with green mountains and snow peaks in the distance. It's like stepping into a painting. p3-p4: 📍Longnu Lake, located in Yuhu Village at the foot of the snow mountain. The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is just in front, very close. The morning mist swirling around the mountain is ethereal, and the lake's reflection gives a mirror-like illusion of the sky. p5-p6: 📍Pearl Lake, an artificial lake located before entering the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain scenic area. Scattered throughout the region, it's a perfect spot for camping and picnicking, offering a feel of being right under the snow mountain. p7-p8: 📍Ganhaizi, a short 2-kilometer hike from the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain scenic area. It's a shallow blue lake formed by the melting snow from the mountains, incredibly dreamy. p9-p10: 📍Ganhe Dam, a cool place where the white mud looks like snow but isn't. Starting from Longnu Lake, it's a 12-kilometer hike to reach, and you can also visit Ganhaizi on the way. It's a free way to enter the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain scenic area by foot. p11-p12: 📍Sister Lakes, a lesser-known free scenic spot. The lake water is blue-green, clear enough to see the swaying water plants, reminiscent of a mini Jiuzhaigou. p13-p14: 📍Qingxi Reservoir, located in the ancient city area, very close to Lijiang Ancient City, perfect for leisurely strolls. p15-p16: 📍Foliday Snow Mountain Campsite, the green grass, blue sky, white clouds, and tents make for a comfortable setting.
