Self-driving tour of Xingyi, Guizhou: 5 days and 4 nights | Unforgettable views of Wanfenglin

🚙 We took a 10+ hour drive with our kids from Guangzhou to Xingyi, leaving at 8am and arriving around 9pm. I'm grateful that the little ones cooperated so well. My 2-year-old daughter slept three times in the car and we arrived. We rested on the first night. I recommend staying in the city center. The beef noodle soup is a safe bet. Day 1 Morning: Ma Ling River Grand Canyon. The sky was gray and we had a 2-year-old, so we decided not to enter the scenic area. We navigated to Ma Ling River Bridge, where there is a parking lot 🅿️, overlooking the most beautiful cracks on earth. Afternoon: Wanfenglin. I don't recommend reading too many guides. This place is beautiful in both sunny and rainy weather, each with its own characteristics. I encountered rainy and foggy weather before returning, but I couldn't resist going to see Wanfenglin again. Even in rainy weather, it looks like an ink painting. ⭐️ Here, it's suitable to rent an electric scooter 🛵 to stop and go as you please, taking your time to enjoy the scenery and chat with the locals. They said that the rapeseed flowers bloom in late February and early March, so come in spring to see the brilliant rapeseed flowers, and in summer to escape the heat in the lush green rice paddies. ☕️ We didn't go to the popular internet-famous cafes, but went to Wa Yuan, a cafe that combines art and coffee. Each cup has an artistic identity, and there are also art works 🎨 in the store. Located on high ground, it also overlooks the rapeseed flower fields. 🍚 We didn't go to the internet-famous egg fried rice place either, but went to the Nongjiawei Buyi Restaurant. The sour bamboo shoots with beef are delicious, and their egg fried rice is also 👍. ⭐️ You need a drone for Fuzitian, but the altitude limit is 120 meters. You can see Baguatian without a drone. Xianagui Village is more concentrated and convenient. Once you arrive, you'll understand Xu Xiake's description: "There are so many mountain peaks in the world, only here do they form a forest." Day 2 Nanlong Buyi Ancient Village, with over 600 years of history. The houses are basically preserved, but the original residents have moved out. Those who are interested can come and experience it. Fenglin Buyi is a man-made scenic area with a strong commercial atmosphere. It's worth a visit, built in the mountains. Even when you reach the parking lot, you still haven't seen the scenic area. ⭐️ It is recommended to arrive at 4pm to see both the day and night scenery. ⭐️ You can choose to walk into the scenic area and take a shuttle bus for 💰10/person when you leave. ⭐️ The night view is beautiful, and there is a non-heritage iron flower show at 8pm. Day 3 Jilongbao and Cloud House For Jilongbao, you can navigate to Fuyap Coffee to get an aerial view. Passing cars can be difficult, so be careful⚠️. Cloud House ⭐️ Choose a sunny day to come here. You can enjoy a panoramic view of Wanfeng Lake. It's a good place to relax and unwind. Summary: If you don't have enough time, you can visit Nanlong, Fenglin Buyi, Jilongbao, and Cloud House in one day. If you have plenty of time, combine the two Buyi villages and Jilongbao and Cloud House. Day 5 Return trip, 5-hour drive to Nanning, a city that gets more exciting as the night goes on. ⭐️ Jianzheng Road Night Market, recommended by locals. Pay attention to the opening hours, as many stalls open at 8pm. In fact, there are many places to stop on the way there and back, such as Liuzhou and Qinzhou, but I wanted to achieve my small goal of traveling a thousand miles a day. So I stepped on the gas and arrived in Xingyi, hahaha.
