Thun - gateway to the snow mountains 🇨🇭

With its around 42000 inhabitants it is rather small but worth visiting. It is the gateway to excursions to the Bernese alps. We strolled through the old town and had. rest at the Aare river (photo 2). Getting There - by car or train from Berne Attractions - 1. Thun castle was built in the 1100s (photo 8&9) from where you have a beautiful view over the city. We walked through the old town where we like most Obere Hauptgasse (photo 4) 2. Boutique Hotel Schloßberg 3* Food & Restaurants - on Aarequai (photo 5) there are many restaurants with outside terrace where you can enjoy the scenic Aare river Shopping - the main shopping street is Baelliz which is pedestrian.
