Bao'en Zen Temple

Bao'en Zen Temple is located in the northeast corner of the ancient city of Shou County, a national historical and cultural city. According to old records, it was first built during the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty and was originally named Chongjiao Zen Monastery and Dong Zen Temple. It was renamed to its current name during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. The temple covers a total area of 14,700 square meters, with a building area of 12,500 square meters. During the Tiansheng period of the Song Dynasty, the Ayu Pagoda (tower) was built. Its scale was described as 'In front, there is a pagoda several zhang high, the middle is the hall, behind the hall is the pavilion, with corridors on the left and right, a Dharma hall, a monk's room, and a bell and drum tower.' The temple's architecture is simple and elegant, with majestic halls and intricately carved beams and painted rafters, exuding a strong Buddhist cultural atmosphere.
