❗Attention
⭕Address: Shanghai Museum (People's Square Main Museum)
⭕Transportation: Exit 1 of People's Square Station on Metro Line 1. There may not be parking spaces if you drive.
⭕It's best to learn about ancient Egyptian history before you go. You can watch online videos, read books, or watch the exhibition exploration video of an Egyptologist on Bilibili. This will be very helpful for your visit!
⭕There are too many people at the Egyptian exhibition! Weekends are the peak time, and there are the most people between 11 am and 4 pm. There are various guided tours, and if you happen to encounter one, you will have to wait for them to leave before you can see the display case.
⭕There are three themed exhibitions: The Kingdom of the Pharaohs, The Secrets of Saqqara, and The Age of Tutankhamun. They are all on the first floor of the Shanghai Museum!
⭕It basically takes a whole day to look at everything carefully, so you can bring enough food and water. There are seats on the 2nd to 4th floors of the Shanghai Museum where you can rest and eat. You cannot eat in the exhibition hall, and staff will stop you if you try.
⭕You can only enter each exhibition once! If you leave temporarily, you must return within 15 minutes!
⭕Plan your time reasonably. If you go on the weekend, go early in the morning when there are fewer people. You can see one exhibition first. The Kingdom of the Pharaohs has more exhibits, so you can see it first. Rest at noon, and in the afternoon, you can see the remaining two exhibitions after 3 pm when there are fewer people.
⭕It's best to bring your ID card. You need to scan your ID card for each exhibition. If you don't bring it, you will have to tell the staff, which is more troublesome.
⭕If you want to avoid the crowds, you can go to the Friday night show or go during the day on a weekday!
⭕Emphasize that tickets basically need to be reserved one month in advance because they are so popular!
