Hospital de la Caridad - Seville, Spain

Not far from the Plaza de Toros, practically on the banks of the Guadalquivir River in Seville, is the building of the Charity Hospital De la Caridad. The founder of the hospital was Don Miguel Manara, who, after the death of his young wife, decided to create a hospital on this site. It was built on the ruins of an old chapel in 1662. The main works on the decoration of the hospital church were carried out by the outstanding Sevillian artists Bartolomé Murillo and Valdés Leal. The walls are decorated with magnificent paintings by the artists Murillo and Bernardo Simón de Pineda. #europetrip
