Everyone knows the Johannesburg is a place not to be played with as the city can be quite dangerous. But fret not, we experience a stay in Protea Hotel By Marriot By Johannesburg True Wanderers, it was a safe and yet wonderful experience.
This hotel firstly had an amazing breakfast, with a wide extensive spread and from the balcony of either your room or the breakfast area you are able to catch a glimpse of the african sunrise which is breath taking.
The hotel also provides shuttle services straight from your hotel lobby to 3 big local malls. These 3 local malls are huge, and filled with food and shops too! Don't worry this malls are also super safe! So if you are heading to Johannesburg, I recommend this place!

In the heart of Johannesburg, you will find Nelson Mandela Square which hosts lots of different restaurants and bars on the ground floor. There are statues dedicated to Nelson Mandela as well as information about his legacy.
Inside the building is also a large shopping mall that contains all of the major brands that you would expect to see. There were a lot of tourists there that wanted to take pictures with the statues #urbanexplorer #mytripvlog

During my recent trip to Johannesburg, I had the pleasure of staying at the Mint Hotel 84 on Katherine. From the moment I arrived, the staff at the hotel went above and beyond to ensure I had a seamless and enjoyable stay.
Upon landing at the airport, the hotel staff had already arranged transport to collect. This thoughtful gesture made my arrival in a new city much less stressful. It was evident that they truly cared about their guests and wanted to provide the best possible experience.
As I entered my room, I was pleased to find it impeccably clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The room also offered the convenience of room service, allowing me to enjoy a delicious meal from the comfort of my own space.
One of the standout features of the Mint Hotel 84 on Katherine is its fantastic location. Situated in a prime area, it was conveniently close to many attractions and amenities. Whether I wanted to explore the vibrant city center or relax at the mall, everything was just a stone's throw away. This proximity made it easy to make the most of my time in Johannesburg.
Overall, my experience at the Mint Hotel 84 on Katherine was exceptional. The staff's willingness to go the extra mile to assist me was truly commendable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area, and I know for certain that I will be staying here again on my next trip to Johannesburg.

Just checked out of the grooviest hotel in town - Mint Hotel 84 on Katherine! π¨ This funkadelic boutique hotel takes you back to the hip 60s and 70s with its retro decor. βοΈπ΅ From the moment you walk in, it feels like you've stepped into a time capsule.
My fave features:
- Far out rooms decked out with lava lamps, tie dye accents & record players. π
- An authentic British telephone box in the lobby! βοΈ So Instagrammable.
- Free continental breakfast with fruity jam, crunchy granola and bread fresh from the oven. ππ₯
Tips for fellow travelers:

First time in South Africa and as expected, I had to land in Jo'burg meaning Sandton city was my city of stay for the period I was visiting! I must admit it's my best African City experience so far and I've loving it. Bush trips are a whole different breed.
Trip.com had discounts on flights and hotels that I took advantage of.
The Catalyst Apartment & Hotel was my choice of stay and I love it.

after 3 years I finally got to have some amazing south african food. I thought the food would have been the same but it just keeps getting better and better. I would totally recommend this to anyone who visits Gauteng, South Africa. Great food, Great Drinks and Great company!
