The starting point of the mountains, the end of the sea, is indeed the foremost pass under the heavens

Years ago, the Shanhaiguan scenic area was penalized for excessive commercialization, but looking at it now, it seems alright; the commercialization is not as excessive as I imagined. Standing atop Shanhaiguan, gazing into the distance, one can still feel a sense of lofty ambition and pride. The mountain is right beneath one's feet, the sea right before one's eyes, a majestic pass standing tall above the waves and the beach, guarding the edge of the world. Shanhaiguan is known as one of the 'Three Great Wonders of the Great Wall of China' (with Shanhaiguan in the east, Zhenbeitai in the center, and Jiayuguan in the west), echoing the distant Jiayuguan, and is renowned throughout the world.
