The climate of Jiuhua Mountain belongs to the North Subtropical humid monsoon climate type, and its rivers and streams are part of the middle and upper reaches of the first and second-level tributaries of the Yangtze River system. Jiuhua Mountain is known for having ninety-nine peaks, among which there are more than 70 famous peaks and over 30 peaks above one thousand meters in height. Jiuhua Mountain has a profound cultural heritage. Since the Jin and Tang dynasties, many famous people have left behind poems, songs, and paintings. There are more than 2,000 cultural relics on Jiuhua Mountain, over 500 poems and songs by famous people from various dynasties, and more than 20 sites of academies and lecture halls. Jiuhua Mountain is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China, a national civilized scenic tourist area, one of the first batch of 5A-level tourist attractions in the country, one of the first batch of natural and cultural dual heritage sites, and a world geopark. The planned area of the scenic spot is 120 square kilometers, with a protected area of 174 square kilometers, consisting of 11 major scenic areas.
