Princess Building

Located at No. 10 Juyongguan Road in the Badaguan area of Qingdao, this villa was designed by the Russian architect W.G. Yuriev and built in the mid-1930s. It is said that the building was constructed for the Danish prince, Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller, and his wife, Princess Margrethe, during their visit to Qingdao, hence the name Princess Building. The architecture is said to be in the Danish style. The main building is a brick and wood structure with one underground level and three above-ground levels, a granite foundation, and a steeply pitched, pointed roof with dormer windows that offer a distant view of the seaside. The walls are painted in dark green with window frames decorated with white and green mosaic tiles. The architectural design is simple and refined.
