Rihu Park in Ningbo is full of highlights and is worth visiting time and again

Ningbo was formerly known as Mingzhou, and within the city, there were the Sun and Moon Lakes, with a river channel connecting the two lakes, reflecting the sun and moon, forming a character 'Ming'. However, the original Rihu has long been dried up and disappeared from people's view since the last century. In 2002, a large park was built near the Bay Head area of Jiangbei in Ningbo, named 'Rihu Park'. This move sparked controversy among the citizens of Ningbo. Opponents believed that this Rihu was not the original one and should not be misrepresented; supporters argued that Rihu should not just vanish, and if it was impossible to excavate at the original site, replicating it elsewhere was also acceptable. Rihu Park covers an area of 690 acres, including more than 230 acres of water area, and is an open urban park. The park has a broad waterscape, with not only the rippling lake but also an artificial stream that runs through the entire park. The transfer station of Metro Line 2 and Line 6, Zhengda Road Station, is located on one side of the park. Within the 200-acre green area, a large number of ginkgo, metasequoia, camphor, acacia, plum, and rose bushes are planted. In the sunny open areas, tulips, lupines, and other popular flowers are planted regularly. The park is full of highlights throughout the year and is worth visiting time and again. The main attractions include Taixi Viewing Fish, Golden Beach, Eden, Forest Oxygen Bar, and the Waterfront Walkway. Taixi Viewing Fish: A winding stream, islands, and fish ponds create a rich and varied water system. Golden Beach: Uses smooth curves to simulate a natural coastal beach. Eden: With thatched cottages, curved wooden bridges, and reeds as the main features, it reflects the natural scene of swaying reeds and the chorus of frogs. Forest Oxygen Bar: An elevated wooden walkway connects several small islands, with lush greenery on both sides.
