The Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale began in 2000 and has a history of 24 years. It is the world's largest outdoor international art festival. Held every three years, this year's event will take place from July 13 to November 10, spanning a total of 87 days. At each Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale, works by artists from around the world are showcased under the theme of 'Nature and Humanity.' These works can evoke a sense of inner peace or provoke deep thought. The forms of presentation are diverse: it could be a painting hung in an art museum converted from an abandoned local school, a piece hidden in the forest, a work situated on local terraced fields, or a visual piece created with a tunnel as the backdrop.
