Solo Trip to Munich and Salzburg for Four Days Over the New Year Holidays

I went on a solo trip to Munich and Salzburg for four days over the New Year holidays. Here is my itinerary✨ Day 1 Arrived at Munich Airport at 7:00 AM✈️ Since the Christmas market at the airport was starting at 11:00, I decided to kill some time until then. I bought some souvenirs at the supermarket and pharmacy in the airport as they were having sales! 11:00-12:00 Christmas Market The market was small, so I was able to see everything in about an hour😊 1:00 PM - Took a train to the city center and visited Munich Residenz, Alte Pinakothek, and Marienplatz. (It took quite a while to see the Residenz, and I barely made it to the Pinakothek before it closed💦) 6. 00 PM - Took a break at Café Luitpold and then headed to the hotel. Day 2 7. 00 AM - 6:00 PM Joined an optional tour with a Japanese guide to visit Neuschwanstein Castle, Linderhof Palace, and Wies Church! Although I was traveling alone, there were other solo travelers on the tour, and we became friends and explored together💕 It's recommended to use a tour for these three places as they are difficult to reach by public transportation! Day 3 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM Took a train to Salzburg 9. 00 AM Arrived in Salzburg Walked through Mirabell Gardens and from Salzburg Central Station to Mozart's Residence. Had breakfast at Café Bazar. 10. 00 AM Shopping in the Old Town🛍️ (It was good to shop at this time as all the stores were closed around 6:00 PM!) 11. 00 AM - 1:00 PM Visited Mozart's Residence and Birthplace. 1. 00 PM Had lunch at Café Tomaselli. (Founded in the 1700s, it is the oldest café in Salzburg and Mozart used to visit it) 2. 00 PM Shopping at the Christmas market🛍️ The Christmas market was open until January and had a lot of interesting items like accessories and knick-knacks! 3. 00 PM Visited Hohensalzburg Fortress. 5. 00 PM Visited Salzburg Cathedral. I listened to a bit of the worship service that had just started. 6. 00 PM Visited the Christmas market again, bought and ate Glühwein and bread✨ Then headed back to Munich. Day 4 Since my flight was around noon, I went straight to the airport in the morning and bought any remaining souvenirs during the waiting time! Although the schedule was quite packed, I was able to visit all the major spots and had a fulfilling trip, so I am very satisfied✨ Being alone, there were many moments when I felt lonely and missed Japan, so it was just the right amount of time!
