| A Guide to the Unmissable Swiss Lakeside Towns. 'Lugano', located on the Swiss-Italian border, is just 1️⃣ hour from Milan. Highly recommended for a day trip, it's a very comfortable city with few people and beautiful scenery. You can also visit Morcote, rated as one of the most beautiful towns in Switzerland, for a stroll. Overall, it's very chill❤️. 👉🏻Itinerary: 🔸Lugano: -The scenery right outside the train station is amazing, picture 2️⃣ is taken right after exiting the station, a very classic spot -Stroll around the city center by the lake -Monte Brè You can take bus B2 to cassarate, Monte bre and then take the funicular 🚠 directly to the lookout. Alternatively, take bus 12 to the last stop and walk for about 20 minutes to the lookout. Since we were with elderly people and our hotel happened to provide a discount voucher for the funicular, we chose to take the funicular to the lookout. 🔸Morcote: After descending the mountain and returning to the city, take bus B431 from Lugano centrale to parco Scherrer, remember to get off at this stop, first visit the botanical garden 🌳 and walk up the steps slowly, built by the lake, no entrance fee is required. After visiting the botanical garden, you can continue walking forward, wandering around the small town of Morcote at will. The town itself is not big, just follow the lakeside and enjoy the beautiful scenery. There is also a church ⛪ where you can climb up to overlook the town, but it requires some physical strength. For the return trip, it is recommended to take a 🚢 back to Lugano city center, a 50-minute boat ride, a different mode of transportation, a different experience. Since we were mainly traveling in Switzerland, we bought the Swiss pass, so the cost of taking the bus and boat could be directly covered by the pass, with no extra charges, very convenient. It is advisable to check the bus and boat schedules on SBB in advance.
