The only mountain range in China that has been crowned as 'the famous mountain under heaven' in history

The Laojun Mountain, 'the unparalleled holy land in the world, the first fairy mountain in the world'. Originally named Jingshi Mountain, it is located three kilometers southeast of Luanchuan County, Luoyang, the ancient capital of thirteen dynasties. It is the main peak of the 800-li Funiu Mountain Range, with the Jade Emperor Peak at an altitude of 2217 meters. It has a cultural history of more than two thousand years and is the longest mountain range in Taoism. During the Spring and Autumn Period, Lao Tzu Li Er, who was recognized as the founder of Taoism, came here to retreat and practice, making it the 'source of Tao' and 'ancestral court'. The Northern Wei Dynasty began to build the Laojun Temple on it to commemorate it. In the eleventh year of Zhenguan (637 AD), Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty rebuilt the Jingshi Mountain Iron Top Laojun Temple and named it 'Laojun Mountain', which became the holy land of the mainstream Quanzhen Sect of Taoism. In the thirty-first year of Wanli (1603 AD), Emperor Shenzong of Ming Dynasty decreed Laojun Mountain as 'the famous mountain under heaven', and issued a gold building, becoming the only mountain range in China that has been crowned as 'the famous mountain under heaven' in history.
