Lincang Sanqing Palace (Free Attraction) || You sure know how to have a good time!

Address: No. 3, Sanjiao Temple Lane, Linxiang District, Lincang City, Yunnan Province Sanqing Palace, originally named Sanjiao Temple, was founded in the eighth year of the Tongzhi era of the Qing Dynasty (1869) by Kun Dao Li Benhou and Li Benzhu. It was established with the support of Zhou Changgongguo Qinquan. The construction continued under Zhang Herong in the twelfth year of Tongzhi (1873) and was completed. In the sixteenth year of Guangxu (1890), it was renovated by the European religious leader. In the twenty-ninth year of Guangxu (1903), the local gentry and people added the Dongjing Tower and the mountain gate to the Sanqing Palace and established the Lincang Dongjing Association (then called the Elders' Association). During the Xianfeng era, Sanjiao Temple was frequently destroyed by fire. In 1933, the Taoist priest Hua Laishun led five disciples to the Erxian An in Qingyang Palace, Sichuan, to be ordained. In 1937, the Myanmar-Ning Taoist Association was established with Ruan Laiqing as the chairman, Li Jiaotong as the vice-chairman, and Ou Jiaoxi. By 1949, the number of believers had reached more than 38,000. In the 50s and 60s, Taoism began to decline, and activities were interrupted during the Cultural Revolution. In the second half of 1980, Taoism began to organize private small-scale activities. In 1983, Lincang implemented religious policies to compensate and return Taoist properties. The Dongjing Tower and the rooms on both sides were demolished by the occupying units. In 1996, the rooms on both sides were renovated and the Dongjing Tower was rebuilt. In 1985, the Lincang County Taoist Association was established. It was officially registered and opened as a place for religious activities. In 1998, the former Sanjiao Temple was renamed Sanqing Palace.
