It takes a 4-hour one-way drive from Jinghong city to the ancient village of Jingmai Mountain. On September 17, 2023, The ancient tea forest cultural landscape of Jingmai Mountain was officially inscribed on the 'World Heritage List.' This is the world's first tea culture-themed world heritage site to date. The original ancient village of the Dai culture. Walking on the stone steps, the sunlight filters through the leaves of tropical plants and sprinkles on the ground. Local grandmothers roast chickens with charcoal by the roadside, with smoke curling up. ✅Wengji Ancient Village This is the 'Millennium Bulang Ancient Village,' which has preserved the original Bulang culture intact. The village is well-maintained, and although there are many guesthouses, restaurants, and tea shops, It doesn't feel out of place or discordant at all. Before leaving, I bought a bag of tea flowers for 10 yuan and was warmly invited by the shop owner to drink tea in the store. The tea leaves in the bamboo tube emit a faint tea fragrance after being roasted with charcoal. 🚗 Wengji and Nuogang ancient villages are only about 8 kilometers apart, and because it's a mountain road, it takes about 20 minutes. The road is lined with ancient tea forests, and if the season is right, there are cherry blossoms all along the way. Truly breathtaking. If you have enough time, I really strongly suggest staying in Wengji for one night. The scenery is just too comfortable. Staying in Wengji until the evening, when almost all the tourists have dispersed. Before leaving, I had a cup of fresh flower roasted milk and a piece of roasted glutinous rice cake. I sat quietly with the local little girls around the charcoal basin, Watching the twilight gradually fall, feeling calm and content.
