Dome of the Rock: A Convergence of Faith and Beauty

🌅 At dawn or dusk, when the sun shines on the Old City of Jerusalem, the dazzling golden dome of the Dome of the Rock is always particularly eye-catching. This Islamic holy site is not only a noble sanctuary in the hearts of Muslims, but also the Temple Mount in the hearts of Jews and Christians. 🏛️ 🕌 The Dome of the Rock, also known as the Golden Dome or the Al-Sakhra Mosque, was built between 687 and 691 AD under the supervision of the 9th Caliph, Abd al-Malik. This mosque has witnessed a thousand years of historical changes in Jerusalem and carries the devotion and prayers of countless believers. 💖 🌈 The Dome of the Rock's large dome is 54 meters high and 24 meters in diameter, and its unique octagonal design and exquisite mosaic craftsmanship are breathtaking. The most striking feature is the golden dome covered with 24 kilograms of pure gold leaf, which exudes an irresistible beauty at any time and place. ✨ 🔍 Inside the Dome of the Rock, you will find a light blue boulder in the center of the mosque, which is said to be the place where the Prophet Muhammad ascended to heaven. The large pit on the rock is said to be the hoofprint left by Muhammad's horse when he ascended to heaven. These legends and historical relics allow visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the mystery and solemnity of this holy site. 👣 📸 The Dome of the Rock is a paradise for photography enthusiasts. Whether you are standing at a distance to capture the panoramic view of the entire mosque or capturing the details of the golden dome up close, every photo can become a precious memory. 💾 🙏 When visiting the Dome of the Rock, please respect local customs and religious beliefs. It is recommended to visit in the morning or evening to avoid crowds and have a better visual experience. Also, please dress appropriately as a sign of respect. 👗 🌹 Finally, may your journey to the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem not only allow you to appreciate unparalleled beauty, but also feel the power and beauty of human faith. ✨

Dome of the Rock

One of the most iconic images of the Middle East is undoubtedly the Dome of the Rock shimmering in the setting sun of Jerusalem. Sitting atop the Haram al-Sharif, the highest point in old Jerusalem, the Dome of the Rock’s golden-color Dome and Turkish Faience tiles dominates the cityscape of Old Jerusalem and in the 7th century served as a testament to the power of the new faith of Islam. The Dome of the Rock is one of the earliest surviving buildings from the Islamic world. This remarkable building is not a mosque, as is commonly assumed and scholars still debate its original function and meaning. Undoubtedly the experienced here is so powerful and can’t be measured as you feel the good energies after you left this place. In my own opinion this is really a must visit place when you’re in Israel. #scenicspotguide#unforgettableexperiences#nyedestinations#instagramworthydestinations#holidayvacation#tripinspired#happynewyear

Dome of the Rock

One of the most sacred places in the world 🕌 - Dome of the Rock, Jerusalem. You tiptoe into one of the most sacred places in the world. This is where the great monotheistic religions believe the world originated. A place almost inaccessible to tourists. And so in an early December sunrise we woke up as soon as possible to be able to visit this incredible wonder. A mosque (the oldest in the world) built on the remains of the Temple of Solomon, the most sacred place of the Jewish religion (the Wailing Wall is all that remains). Jerusalem is layers and layers of stories and this is the perfect example. Entering such a place is really intense. The Dome of the Rock stands out in the Jerusalem skyline with its 30kg of authentic gold covering it. An unmissable stop, a mix of emotions and at the same time such beauty that it cannot take your eyes off. Have you ever been there? Practical advice: access is allowed in the summer months from Sunday to Thursday from 7.30 to 11 and from 13.30 to 14.30. During the winter months: from 7.30 to 10.30 and from 12.30 to 13.30. Recommended women's clothing: legs and arms well covered. No bare feet. #awesomepic #historicallandmarks #jerusalem #travelinspiration
