Climbing Renhuang Mountain to See the Setting Sun

At 4 p.m. on February 26th, I arrived at Renhuang Mountain Sports Park and reached the summit around 4:30 p.m. In addition to enjoying the scenery along the way, I experienced the artistic conception of the setting sun over the long river from the summit, which was truly refreshing. Below is an introduction to Huzhou Renhuang Mountain Scenic Area: General Overview - Location: Located at the intersection of Qingtong Road and Renhuangshan Road, Wuxing District, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, in the Taihu Resort Area northwest of Huzhou City. - Area and Altitude: The park covers a total area of approximately 325 hectares, with the main peak at an altitude of about 211 meters. - Historical Origins: Originally named "Fenghuang Mountain" (Phoenix Mountain) because the mountain resembles a giant phoenix with verdant wings, soaring and dancing. During the reign of Emperor Suzong of Tang, Monk Wenxi built "Renwang Temple" on Fenghuang Mountain. The mountain was named after the temple and was also called "Renwang Mountain." Later, due to the similar pronunciation of "Wang" and "Huang" in the Huzhou dialect, it gradually evolved into "Renhuang Mountain." Natural Landscape - Mountain and Forest Scenery: Renhuang Mountain has winding ridges and lush forests, with varying scenery throughout the four seasons. The mountain has rich vegetation and shady trees. During the climb, the trees on both sides are lush and green, and the air is fresh, making it a natural oxygen bar. - Ecological Wetland: The "Shanshui Qingyin" scenic area covers an area of about 210,000 square meters. Inspired by the music sage Shi Kuang's "High Mountains and Flowing Water," it is an ecological wetland landscape park that integrates the culture of clear sounds of mountains and waters, the charm of a water town, and distinct contemporary features. Cultural Landscape - Renhuang Pavilion: Standing on the top of the main peak, it is the landmark building of Renhuang Mountain and the "Peak of Huzhou." The pavilion was first built in 2010 and officially opened to the public in 2011. With a total height of 39.365 meters, it has seven floors above ground and one floor underground. Its flying eaves and corners, simple and magnificent, fully demonstrate the essence of Song Dynasty architecture. - Renwang Huguo Chan Temple: Originally built during the Zhide to Xiantong periods of the Tang Dynasty (756-876 AD), it has a history of more than a thousand years. Its name was given by Emperor Yizong of Tang, and it is the dojo of Manjushri Bodhisattva. - Statue of Qin Shi Huang: Located on the wide square at the east gate of Renhuang Mountain. After Ying Zheng unified China, he toured south to Kuaiji and passed through Wucheng (i.e., Huzhou). Seeing that Fenghuang Mountain, four or five miles northwest of Hucheng, resembled a soaring and dancing dragon and phoenix, with a subtle imperial aura, he ordered the mountain to be carved and split, and the river to be diverted, to break its dragon vein. Leisure and Entertainment The scenic boulevard around the foot of Renhuang Mountain is an excellent choice for walking, cycling, and enjoying the scenery.
