Two-Day Tour of Huangshan and Hongcun

Transportation: Xiamen → Huangshan North (High-speed train 14:14-18:17) Huangshan North → Xiamen (High-speed train 17:16-21:26) ‼️The last bus from Huangshan North Station to the South Gate of Huangshan usually departs by 19:00, so try to take the bus 🚌 as early as possible. Other transportation costs are very high and not worth it. Day 1: Xiamen → Huangshan North → Check-in at hotel (at the foot of Huangshan, preferably near the South Gate) It’s a very small town, with dining and accommodation concentrated in one area, mostly hotels and restaurants. Day 2: Huangshan Scenic Area: Take the Yungu Cableway up → Yuping Cableway down (combo ticket 379 RMB). Don’t look down on the lazy route; someone like me really can’t climb. The scenery is excellent and worth the trip, but there are too many people going down the mountain, and the arrangements are poor. The cable car line can take two to three hours for just a few minutes of riding. From Huangshan South Gate Bus Station ➡️ Hongcun (20 RMB/person, last bus around 7 PM, schedule may change so check in advance). Take the bus if possible; other transportation costs are really expensive. Day 3: Hongcun: Painted Bridge, Nanhu Academy, Moon Pond, Wang Family Ancestral Hall. (Leisurely stroll at your own pace) Hongcun ➡️ Huangshan North: It’s recommended to buy tickets in advance and plan your visit according to the schedule. The distance is very far (both bus and taxi are far), and taxis are hard to get and expensive (160 RMB+).
