Traveling with two children, the main goal was a relaxed trip, reaching the summit of Tiandu Peak, and enjoying the core scenic spots. After comparing many options, we finally chose to stay one night at Baiyun Hotel, and the experience was excellent. 🏠 Location and Room Type: Baiyun Hotel is located in the core area at the top of Huangshan, with a superior location adjacent to Bright Summit and Aoyu Peak. It is only a 15-minute walk to Bright Summit, making it an ideal hotel for watching sunrise and sunset. We booked a family room through the official Huangshan tourism platform mini-program, equipped with one large bed and one small bed. The space is spacious and bright, comfortably accommodating two adults and two children, allowing the kids to move freely with high comfort. Price: The price for one night during the autumn peak season is 1618 RMB. Although the price is relatively high, considering the facilities and services, it offers great value. The room is well-equipped, with an electric heated toilet enhancing the stay experience. Complimentary local snacks like little twisted dough sticks are provided, which the children enjoyed very much. The butler service is thoughtful and attentive; after adding their WeChat, you can consult anytime. Whether it’s planning hiking routes or daily needs, you get timely responses, making family travel worry-free. Dinner: The hotel’s first-floor buffet restaurant has a grand atmosphere and offers a wide variety of dishes, including home-style meals, seafood, desserts, and more, satisfying the whole family’s tastes. Adults pay 160 RMB each; children under 1.2 meters eat free, those between 1.2 and 1.4 meters pay half price, and above 1.4 meters pay full price. The charges are reasonable. After hiking, the whole family can sit together to enjoy a hearty dinner, replenishing energy for the next day’s itinerary. A few practical tips: ① As a long-established five-star hotel in Huangshan, Baiyun Hotel’s front desk service is efficient and reliable, though not overly warm or proactive. When we arrived at 10 a.m., the room was not yet cleaned, but the front desk quickly coordinated expedited cleaning and notified us to check in 40 minutes later, saving valuable sightseeing time. ② Building B is a 3-minute walk from the main building and requires stairs. Parents staying in Building B should be aware and take care when traveling with children and luggage. ③ There are no elevators in any of the hotel buildings, so you need to walk up stairs. Parents with kids should be prepared physically. There is no air conditioning in the rooms; autumn nights are cool, so no worries about heat, but bring a light jacket for warmth. ④ For sunset viewing, Aoyu Peak is recommended. The platform is open and unobstructed, with autumn colorful forests and sunset glow creating excellent photo opportunities. For sunrise, go to Bright Summit. If there is a queue at Tiandu Peak, watching the sunrise along the way is also charming and you won’t miss the beautiful scenery. ⑤ There are still many visitors heading to Tiandu Peak in autumn. It is recommended to get up at 3:30 a.m. and depart at 4 a.m. It takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes on foot to reach the Tiandu Peak Old Trail entrance, avoiding peak crowds. ⑥ The Tiandu Peak Old Trail entrance has a large restroom with clean and complete facilities, solving the problem of restroom needs during the hike. ⑦ The sunrise view at the Tiandu Peak Old Trail entrance is excellent, where you can see the sun rising from the sea of clouds, paired with distant mountains and colorful forests. The scenery is spectacular and worth visiting. Overall, the stay at Baiyun Hotel was excellent and worth the price. Comfortable accommodation allowed the whole family to rest fully during the hike, ensuring enough energy to better enjoy Huangshan’s beauty; the superior location seamlessly connects sunrise, sunset, and Tiandu Peak trips; the dining quality and price exceeded expectations, so no worries about eating on the mountain; the spacious family room was loved by the children, making it an ideal lodging choice for traveling to Huangshan with kids.
