Shanghai to Huangshan Two-Day Tour Itinerary

Day1 🚄: 08:35-11:32 Shanghai Hongqiao—G7317—Huangshan North 🚌: After exiting the high-speed train station, buy a bus ticket at the adjacent bus station and take a 40-60 minute bus ride to Tangkou Town, Huangshan. 🥣: Have a meal after exiting the station (there are many restaurants with a variety of cuisines to choose from) 🚌: Re-enter the station and take the uphill shuttle bus towards Ciguang Pavilion (19💰, available for purchase on the official WeChat account), arriving at the Yunping Cableway entrance. 1️⃣ (Around 14:00) Yuping Cableway: Swipe your ID card to enter 2️⃣ (Around 15:00) Welcoming Pine: Walk about 50 minutes from the Yuping Cableway to the Welcoming Pine. 3️⃣ (Around 16:00) One-Line-Sky: Walk about 70 minutes from the Welcoming Pine to One-Line-Sky. 4️⃣ (Nearly 17:00) Ao Fish Peak: Walk about 30 minutes from One-Line-Sky to Ao Fish Peak (the best viewpoint for a distant view of Lotus Peak). 5️⃣ (Nearly 17:30) Bright Summit: Walk about 40 minutes from Ao Fish Peak to Bright Summit (take a restroom break in between). 🏨: Check into the Huangshan Bright Summit Lodge, and scout the sunrise viewing spot for the next day 🌌: Went out to see the stars wearing the hotel's coat a few times at night, but saw almost nothing due to the cloudy and rainy weather. Day2 🌄: Arrived at the sunrise viewing spot (just behind the hotel) at 5:30, waited a long time but the clouds and fog did not disperse, so went back to the hotel for breakfast. 6️⃣ (Around 09:00) Flying Rock: Walk about 30 minutes from Bright Summit to Flying Rock (mostly downhill) 7️⃣ (Around 10:00) West Sea Grand Canyon: Mainly downhill, take a small train (100/person) uphill after reaching the bottom of the valley 8️⃣ Descending the mountain: Return to Bright Summit and descend from the back mountain (the back mountain is indeed much gentler, and the scenery is relatively bland compared to the front mountain, but there are high mountain meadow landscapes) 9️⃣ Yuping Cableway: The weather was bad, and the companion was too tired, so we chose to take the cableway down the mountain. 🚌: Downhill shuttle bus in the scenic area, to Tangkou Town, Huangshan. 🚌: Take a bus from Tangkou Town to Huangshan North Station. 🚄: 17:41-20:08 Huangshan North Station—G732—Shanghai Hongqiao tips: 1️⃣ This itinerary was made before the new high-speed train station in Huangshan opened in April. Now that the new station is open, you can search for more convenient options. 2️⃣ Follow the official Huangshan Tourism platform on WeChat for detailed maps and routes. 3️⃣ Pay attention to the weather. It was cloudy and rainy on the two days we went. I wore a hardshell jacket, so I felt okay even in the rain, but my companion's jacket got soaked. It's better to wear a raincoat than to use an umbrella on the mountain, as it's inconvenient for both yourself and others. 5️⃣ The total cost of transportation is about 850💰.
