Something else to do in Hong Kong

If you want to go and see another part of Hong Kong than the busy town and high rise buildings consider a day trip to Sharp Island and Sai Kung volcanic Island that is connected by a causeway which is accessible by foot most of the day but does get covered during high water. It will show you a very different part of Hong Kong, green, pleasant and relaxing. To get there take one of the many boats offering trips from Sai Kung Pier, should cost less than 50 HKD each for the return trip. Sai Kung is located north east of Kwoloon a 40 minute taxi ride but also via a very pleasant bus trip along the coast which takes just over an hour. Once you arrive the causeway is near the harbour and you can walk to the volcano and enjoy the sea for a swim. Once back in Sai Kung it is time to relax in one of the many restaurants in this pleasant village before returning to the hussle and bussle of Kwoloon and the city.
