Gateway to The Italian Alps

One of the most stunning day trips on our 2019 Italian adventure was to the Dolomites. Part of a small group tour we took off from Venice early in the morning and drove through the Prosecco region before entering the mountainous Dolomiti area and watched the landscape change before our very eyes. With a short stops in the quaint alpine villages of Cortina and San Candido it was easy to see why the European Alps are so appealing. And as an Aussie it was great to see snow on our trip. The real showstopper was the stop at Lake Misurina. The view was breath taking. One day I will return to hike in this beautiful area #gooutside #bucketlist
