Doha is a popular layover destination for many travelers, making it perfect for a one-day tour. A must-see is the Museum of Islamic Art, a masterpiece by architect I. M. Pei, which took me almost two hours to explore. Afterward, you can enjoy the modern architecture of Doha from the waterfront. Next, visit the Qatar National Museum, which has an exterior resembling clouds, though it was closed on the day I visited. The Souq Waqif, a large marketplace, sells food, spices, household items, clothing, and more. There are also many stylish restaurants and cafes worth visiting. Most places in Doha are accessible by metro, so consider getting a day pass. Uber is also reasonably priced. If you're worried about traffic, be sure to take the metro to Doha Airport.
