Wudangshan Will Punish Anyone Who Underestimates It

Wudangshan will punish anyone who underestimates it! I visited Wudangshan a few days ago, and I never expected it to be so challenging. Even though the highest altitude is only 1,613 meters, and even though I took the cable car and only walked down the mountain, my legs ached for two or three days afterward. This trip made me realize that Wudangshan should not be underestimated, both in terms of its cultural significance and the physical demands of exploring it. Moreover, the entrance tickets are not cheap, so you must be well-prepared before visiting Wudangshan: 1. Watch the CCTV documentary "The Tao of Wudang" beforehand to gain a deeper understanding of Wudangshan's history and religious significance. 2. Avoid peak tourist seasons and holidays, or you'll be squeezed beyond belief. 3. Set aside two days on the mountain. Those with good physical strength can challenge themselves by hiking from the Ming Divine Way to the Golden Summit, staying overnight near the summit to watch the sunrise over the sea of clouds. Those with average physical strength can follow our route, staying overnight near the Wuya Ridge parking lot and visiting Nanyan Palace, Zixiao Palace, Taizipo, and Xiaoyaogu the next day. 4. Bring some water. Accommodation and food prices on Wudangshan are reasonable, but water is relatively expensive. 5. Bring trekking poles. Comfortable clothing and shoes are essential for climbing Wudangshan. Trekking poles are a must-have, as they save energy on the ascent and reduce knee strain on the descent. They are available for purchase both at the foot and on the mountain for about ¥20 each. 6. If you have enough time, it's recommended to visit the Danjiangkou Reservoir Dam and drive along the reservoir's ring road. 7. Wudangshan ticket prices: • Entrance ticket: ¥126 (excluding Golden Summit and Zixiao Palace), ¥153 (including Golden Summit), ¥141 (including Zixiao Palace), ¥164 (including Golden Summit and Zixiao Palace). • Shuttle bus ticket: ¥90 (one-way trip takes nearly 1 hour, a must-buy). • Round-trip cable car: ¥150, one-way ¥80. • Re-entry fee: ¥20 (tickets are valid for three days, but if you leave the mountain and wish to re-enter, you must register before leaving and pay a ¥20 re-entry fee). 8. Food and accommodation: There are many options for dining and lodging both inside and outside the Wudangshan scenic area. Accommodation typically costs around ¥200-300 per night, and meals are also reasonably priced.
