Day 1 Kunming ✈️ Shenzhen to Kunming (Landing at Kunming Airport) 🏨 Stay near Kunming Railway Station, convenient for going to Dali the next day. Day 2 Dali 🏨 Stay in Dali Old Town 🚄 Kunming to Dali 📍 Guesthouse to Dali Old Town—Jim's Little Bar (Arrived in Dali in the afternoon, settled in and went out to explore the old town. Had mushroom hot pot for dinner, then strolled around the old town and went to a little bar. The bar had a great atmosphere but was a bit pricey.) 🏨 Stay in Dali Old Town (Both nights in Dali were spent in the old town.) Day 3 Dali 📍 Guesthouse to Xizhou Ancient Town to Erhai Lake to Dali Old Town—Bonfire Party (Took taxis to and from the airport. Bought snacks in the old town for dinner. There are bonfires in Dali, Lijiang, and Shangri-La old towns, but Dali has the best atmosphere.) Day 4 Lijiang 🚌Dali—Lijiang (took a bus; bought tickets at the Didi stop on the bus) 📍B&B—Shuhe Ancient Town—Lijiang Ancient City (Shuhe Ancient Town wasn't very interesting, so we returned to the ancient city early. Lijiang Ancient City was very lively at night; I bought flower cakes and flower-roasted milk.) 🏨Lijiang Ancient City Day 5 Lijiang 📍B&B—Dongba Valley (sunrise viewing)—Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (bought cable car tickets on "Lijiang Tourism Group" website. Tickets need to be booked a week in advance, available at 8 PM sharp. Large cable car ticket to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain: 140 RMB; Small cable car ticket to Spruce Meadow + Blue Moon Valley: 60 RMB) Day 6 Shangri-La 🚌Lijiang—Shangri-La 📍B&B—Dukezong Ancient City—Tang Dynasty Painting—Prayer Wheel (Shangri-La has a high altitude; bring oxygen cylinders.) 🏨Dukezong Ancient City Day 7 Shangri-La 📍B&B—Pudacuo National Park—Songzanlin Monastery (Student ticket for Pudacuo National Park is 69 yuan, full price is 138 yuan, including entrance fee 68 yuan + scenic area shuttle bus fee 70 yuan) Day 8 Return Trip 📍Shangri-La—Kunming—Shenzhen (High-speed train back to Kunming, you can buy flowers at Dounan Flower Market in the afternoon) I stayed in B&Bs for all 7 nights, and mostly took taxis. The dry pot beef in Shangri-La was delicious, highly recommended! Erhai Lake, Blue Moon Valley, and Pudacuo were the most worthwhile places to visit on this trip.
