Off-the-Beaten-Path Destination | National Cheongju Museum, South Korea (Non-Self-Driving Version).

A large museum with few exhibits but a great experience. There were very few people, and we visited it on our way back to the city from Sangdang Sanseong Fortress. 🚌 Transportation Information [National Cheongju Museum - Underground Shopping Mall] We took bus 862, and the boarding stop was National Cheongju Museum, and the alighting stop was Underground Shopping Mall. The fare is 1,400 won per person, and you need to swipe your card once when boarding and once when alighting. Press the bell before alighting. The museum is all about chill, with a "breathing" space that contains cultural heritage with the breath of ancient people, and a "resting" space where you can stop and rest. 🎫 Free admission, not sure if parking is free. There is an introduction to the museum in the museum, in Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and English, with information and restrooms. 🚶🏽‍♀️ The exhibition area includes the following: 1⃣️ Outdoor area: There are some Korean stone statues. In early autumn, some red leaves are mixed with yellow leaves. There is a road behind the museum, full of ginkgo trees, which should be very beautiful in a week. 2⃣️ Archaeology Room 1: The days before humans used metal, with displays of earth and stone artifacts. 3⃣️ Archaeology Room 2: The days after humans used metal, with displays of metal utensils, a large display wall, and a booklet (in Korean) with some archaeological books. 4⃣️ Art Room: Displays of modern and contemporary metal in art. 5⃣️ Gold Crown Room: Not open, displaying the gold crown and gold belt unearthed from the Seobongchong Tomb in Gyeongju. 6⃣️ Temporary Exhibition Area: With the theme of "recording," it explains the importance of recording through artifacts and documents from various dynasties. There is a rest area (cafe + cultural and creative area) in the museum. If you have time and are interested in the history of Cheongju, South Korea, you can come and have a look. The visit takes about 1 hour, and there is a bus stop at the entrance of the museum, which is very convenient.
