Sunbird Symbol Unearthed at Jinsha Site Museum

Highlights - Jinsha Site Museum has the sunbird gold sheet artifact, gold mask which is cuter and handsome, and several highly artistic jade ornaments. Large outdoor area with river, trees and flowers suitable for relaxation, locals were seen strolling with their children and babies. Impressions - While the artifacts in Sanxingdui are surreal and even outrageous thus intriguing, those in Jinsha Site Museum are in my opinion, of elevated artistic values, which can be adopted into the present day culture and lifestyle. That's why the sunbird symbol can be seen in many places in Chengdu and still hold great amount of appeal to the people. The number of artifacts, although very well preserved and intact, are much lesser in numbers than Sanxingdui, so I could take my time strolling by not only the artifacts, but also the idea and hypotheses from the findings. It so happened that I visited the Jinsha Site Museum before Sanxingdui, and I found this to help me understand the content in Sanxingdui much easier than if I hadn't. The museum have less visitors, so I bought the ticket online after arriving. Getting There - Took line 7 subway to Jinsha Site Museum stop. Attractions - Historical artifacts unearthed from Jinsha Site. Garden outside the museum. Language - Chinese language, English. Recommended duration - 2-3 hrs to half a day.
