The best hotel in Changsha, no doubt about it.

The Park Hyatt Changsha has been open for two months. I took advantage of the weekend to take a look. I'm only interested in making a special trip for the Park Hyatt. I wouldn't bother with the Grand Hyatt. This Park Hyatt is owned by Wharf Holdings. Although it's in a good location, it's in the IFS annex. The main tower is occupied by the popular Niccolo hotel. I've stayed at the Niccolo in Changsha. It's pretty ordinary, so I didn't have high expectations for the Park Hyatt in the annex. The negative reviews and photos online also lowered my expectations. In reality, it's better than I expected. It's not outstanding among Park Hyatt hotels, but it's not bad. At least compared to other Park Hyatt hotels in China, I think it's much better than the ones in Guangzhou and Beijing. The overall quality of the hotel is good and it fits the brand. The design just doesn't photograph well. Compared to other hotels in Changsha, the design is unique. Don't bother comparing it to the St. Regis or W hotels. They're not in the same league. Overall, the Park Hyatt Changsha is my favorite hotel in Changsha. The Park Hyatt Changsha is another Park Hyatt designed by Conran and Partners, following the Park Hyatt Jakarta. The designers aimed to create a stylish and luxurious residence in the Star City, drawing on the diverse colors and inspiration of Hunan's rich natural scenery and Changsha's urban landscape to create a stylish home away from home for guests with taste. It's clear that recent Park Hyatt hotels are no longer as complicated as they were in the Yabu era. They're more modern, stylish, and comfortable. Although it's not that stunning and the design isn't particularly outstanding, I personally prefer this modern presentation. At least it's better than some of Potato's works. I don't think the hotel's color scheme is very bold. These colors represent the passion of Hunan culture. Contrasting colors aren't necessarily not high-end. It depends on the combination. Other hotels in Changsha don't use contrasting colors. Most of them just pile on fancy colors. Compared to the Park Hyatt, it's more balanced. The Park Hyatt's choice of artwork is also tasteful. For example, the large artwork made of intertwined gold and copper wires in the arrival area on the fourth floor is inspired by the famous Xiang embroidery. Speaking of public areas, many people complain that they're too small. They are indeed small, but the public areas in Shenzhen and Hangzhou aren't much bigger. Of course, it would be better if the space was bigger. The hotel's hardware is slightly inferior to top luxury brands. For example, the hardware in the guest rooms is Kohler. Strangely, the public areas use Contemporary. The toilet is not the flagship TOTO model, etc. The hotel's service is currently good. Although it's sometimes a bit stiff, you can tell they really want to provide good service. The hotel only has one restaurant, but it serves multiple functions. The breakfast is of a high standard for the Park Hyatt. There's so much to eat in Changsha, it's enough to meet general needs. The strong smell mentioned at the opening has greatly improved and is now completely acceptable. However, there is still a bit of a smell. Maybe some people are particularly sensitive to smells. That's another story.
