Located at the centre of Merdeka Square, National Monument (MONAS) is a must to visit when you arrive Indonesia. The entry ticket to the museum and to the peak of the monument is relatively cheap at IDR20,000. You have to purchase the ticket and get your number to the peak, which is less than 1 hour for me to reach the peak. In the museum itself, you will know how the Indonesian fight for their independence. Soekarno Hatta was their First President who struggle for independence from the Dutch colonialists. Indonesia gain its independence on 17 Aug 1945. At the peak, you will get a spectacular view of the Jakarta. There is no limit of time spend at the observation deck.
