Really!!! The Summer Palace will punish anyone who doesn't do their research.

I believe no one traveling to Beijing wants to miss the Summer Palace. Make sure to do your research before you go! Don't be a fool like me and go without a plan. 1⃣️ Never enter through the West Gate. You'll end up walking an extra kilometer or two for nothing. There are no attractions there, just trees, water, and fences! You might see a water bird at most! 2⃣️ Bring enough food and drinks. The park is huge, and you'll probably spend a long time there. There aren't many places to buy food. You might find bread, but that's about it. No hot dogs or corn on the cob. 3⃣️ If you're short on time and just want a quick look, I don't recommend buying a full-price ticket. If you have plenty of time, go for it. 4⃣️ Must-see attractions: The Picture Within a Picture (nice pavilions, terraces, rockeries, and a great view of the whole park—perfect for photos). The Marble Boat is a great spot for photos, with beautiful scenery. The Tower of Buddhist Incense is the highest viewing point. You'll need to climb a lot of steps, but the view from the top is amazing! The Summer Palace Museum is worth a visit, with lots of cultural relics and interesting things to learn about, such as ancient woodworking and art from around the world. Don't miss it if you have elementary or middle school students with you. ⚠️⚠️ Note: Most importantly, don't enter through the West Gate! Transportation is very convenient. If you want to go to the Old Summer Palace after visiting the Summer Palace, exit through the East Gate or the Museum and take a taxi. It's convenient and not too expensive. It cost me about 10 yuan to get to the East Gate of the Old Summer Palace!
