Liyuan Guild

The Liyuan Guild is located at No. 65, Yingtao Xie Street, Xicheng District, Beijing. The Liyuan Guild is a mass organization for Peking Opera professionals in Beijing. After the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, its name changed several times, successively known as "Jingzhong Temple," "Zhengleyuhua Society," "Beiping Liyuan Public Welfare Association," and "Beiping Liyuan Guild." It served as a communication platform for Peking Opera professionals in Beijing, with a history dating back to the Qing Dynasty. Over time, its name evolved to "Jingzhong Temple" and "Beijing Liyuan Public Welfare Association," witnessing the glorious history of Peking Opera, a national treasure. After undergoing relocation, renovation, and preservation, the Beijing Liyuan Guild, now a center for Peking Opera art exchange and dissemination, opened to the public on November 21, 2024. The Liyuan Guild Hall features Peking Opera studios, social classrooms, digital experience reading and viewing areas, makeup experience areas, and an open-air stage. It integrates functions such as Peking Opera-themed collections, exchanges, exhibitions, teaching and research, and performances, creating a multifunctional offline integrated base that showcases the development history and unique characteristics of Peking Opera from various perspectives.
