Pura Ulun Danu Beratan

The Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, also known as the Lake Goddess Temple, is one of the most characteristic temples on Bali, completely built on the water. It is the background image of the fifty thousand Indonesian rupiah note, and its scenery is extremely beautiful, often appearing on scenic postcards. Covered by dense fog, it appears especially serene. The temple is located on the shores of Lake Bratan (Danau Beratan), with a style that is half Hindu and half Buddhist, dedicated to the worship and commemoration of the lake goddess Dewi Danu.
