Calling all travelers looking for a 6-day Japan trip! This guide covers hidden gems like Mt. Aso, Kusasenri, and Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine. Stay in downtown Fukuoka hotels for a stress-free and budget-friendly experience—just follow this itinerary! / Check out this super practical travel guide below ↓ / ✈️ Itinerary at a glance: DAY 1: Arrive at Fukuoka Airport, private transfer to a downtown Fukuoka hotel DAY 2: Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine – Yufuin – Yunotsubo Street DAY 3: Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine – Amanoiwato Shrine – Amano Yasukawara – Takachiho Gorge DAY 4: Minamiaso Railway – Mt. Aso – Kusasenri – Kumamoto Castle DAY 5–6: Free time in Fukuoka – Private transfer to the airport for your return flight / ✈️ Travel preparation: 🪪 First, bring your passport and Japan tourist visa. Keep a few extra copies in case they get lost. 🔌 Next, prepare a plug adapter and a portable power strip. Japan uses 2-pin flat plugs; most appliances work directly, but some may require an adapter. 📱 Get a SIM card or portable WiFi. Signal coverage in Japan isn't universal in September, so this will make looking up guides and directions easier. 👖 Finally, pack some light long-sleeved shirts and breathable long pants. September afternoons in Japan are sunny while mornings and evenings are cool. Also, shrines and temples require modest attire (no exposed shoulders or legs). / Want to unlock your dream itinerary? A day trip to Dazaifu City, a healing trip to spiritual shrines and museums

Want to stay away from the bustling city and feel the natural aura and cultural baptism in one day? Dazaifu City really won’t disappoint you! Not only does it have the famous Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine and several shrines with different atmospheres, you can feel the extra tranquility of walking among the antique shrines, but you can also walk into the Kyushu National Museum to enjoy the essence of Japanese history and art at once. This time I visited in person (I felt really super relaxing when I came back!) and I just want to strongly recommend you to visit Dazaifu at least once in your life.

· —Itinerary Attractions Inventory and Recommendations——

First, Tenkai Inari Shrine (Tenkai Inari Shrine) Address: 4 Chome-7-43 Saifu, Dazaifu, Fukuoka 818-0117, Japan Opening hours: 06:30-18:30
Guarded by the Inari fox through the red torii trail, it is definitely a must-see for photos. There are few people in the morning, so it is recommended to leave early and go up the hill to the shrine to breathe fresh air, which is super comfortable.

Outdated Amulet Return Old Imperial Guard Return Office Address: 4 Chome-7 Saifu, Dazaifu, Fukuoka 818-0117, Japan
After visiting the shrine, remember to bring the old amulet and return it. It means getting rid of the old and welcoming the new year to make the year smoother!

Water Shrine Address: 4 Chome-7-1 Saifu, Dazaifu, Fukuoka 818-0117, Japan Opening hours: 06:30-18:30
The little water shrine built in the shadow of the tree feels super healing. I recommend you to wash your hands and cleanse your heart here before entering Tenmangu.

Dazaifu Tenmangu Temporary Hall Dazaifu Tenmangu Temporary Main Hall Address: 4 Chome-7-1 Saifu, Dazaifu, Fukuoka 818-0117, Japan
Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is currently under maintenance, and the temporary main hall has a full sense of sacredness. Come here to pay homage to seek academics and protect yourself

Kirin Statue Kirin Statue Address: 4 Chome-7-11 Saifu, Dazaifu, Fukuoka 818-0117, Japan Open all day
One of the representative animals of Tenmangu, it is suitable to touch the game when you play the card, and good luck will come with you.

Dazaifu Tenmangu Main Hall, Empress’ Plum, Kaedesha, Tobi-ume, etc. In addition to the main hall, along the way plum gardens, stone statues, seasonal flowers are super beautiful, the four seasons scenery is different, slowly walk slowly feel.

Kyushu National Museum Address: 4-7-2 Ishizaka, Dazaifu, Fukuoka 818-0118, Japan
As soon as you enter, you will be shocked by the magnificent architecture! The museum is rich in Japanese and Asian artifacts, the air conditioning is comfortable and suitable for rest, it is highly recommended to plan 1-2 hours to enjoy.

Kamado Shrine Reception, Dazaifu Tenmangu museum and other small shrines
Love of strolling is not limited to the main line, the suburbs of Paomen Shrine Reception sits on the mountain view, early spring cherry blossom viewing and autumn autumn leaves are more romantic.

· —Practical tips——

1. Access: From Fukuoka Tenjin Station, take the West Rail directly into Dazaifu Station for about 30 minutes. The journey is tight, so consider taking a slow tour of all the shrines along the main road and walk to the Kyushu National Museum at the end.
2. Food recommendation: Tenmangu Shrine is full of plum cakes, matcha soft ice cream, and udon small shops. I recommend the old-fashioned "かさの家" plum cake. You must try it!
3. Check-in tip: Less crowds to arrive before 10 am, photo spots do not need to queue for a long time. The museum gift shop has extremely exquisite souvenirs, a must-see!
4. Relaxation suggestion: Dazaifu Shrine area around the four seasons different flower scenery, spend time slowly walking, body and mind will naturally relax down.
5. Pay back the old guard Remember to bring your own, there is a dedicated recycling office on site, make good use of traditional etiquette.
