Timberland Highlands Resort

Location is out of the way and there are no nearby stores or restos in the area. The mobile network is weak but there's wifi so it's okay. Food is expensive so you better have the buffet. The buffet was great and the manager was really hospitable. The hotel room's space is just okay. No view in our room. Amenities are somewhat lacking but just okay.
Villa MJ Maristela Beach Resort

The room is very clean and it's really like a hotel it has a comforter like the ones you see at hotels we availed the deluxe room so its not that spacious specially the comfort room only one person can fit in. You can bring your own drinks or foods too inside the resort you don't need to pay a corkage fee. They have court for basketball and volleyball the price is cheaper when you rent it in daytime. We also tried their full body massage for 1 hr that cost us 750 pesos each. You will need to go to their resto to claim your free breakfast if you avail the room that comes with a breakfast, it will not be delivered to your room but you can choose whichever breakfast meal they have in their menu plus it comes with a soup which is great and their foods taste delicious also the price of their food is reasonable but they have a 10% service charge for dine in and 15% for room service. The resto's cutoff for room service is 5pm, 7pm for dine in. The resort's downside is their operations time the front desk and restaurant is only open from 7am-8pm so if you're going to need something from the front desk after that time no one can assist you because they'll be gone by then only the guard will be left in the front door and also if you got hungry at night you might need to buy food from their resto before they closes or buy from a nearby convenient store because there's also no foodpanda or grabfood nearby stores also closes early so you have to plan your dinner ahead of time. We went to SM (closes at 9pm) the fare going there using tricycle is 120pesos.Their pool is only open till 9pm only if you want to eat or drink near the pool you can use their cabanas. Another downside is the beach, the beach area closes at 8pm. Their sand is gray (but a fine sand) you can't really swim in it because the waves are strong and the water is not clear and it's kinda dirty there's a lot of trash beside the beach it's not well maintained. You will really need to go island hopping which is already not part of the resort's activity so they'll let you sign a waiver. There's a lot of bangkero beside the beach it's best to ride by group there's only 2 of us when we rode the boat so it's a bit expensive, island hopping will cost you around 2000 (1 island) to 3.5k (2 islands) we availed the 3.5k. We went coral diving (they lent us their goggles for free or bring your own goggles) and also went at the white sand beach which is in Bauan, Batangas which also has clear water and you can also spot some fish and corals, travel time going to those 2 places is 35-45mins you can also bring your food but keep in mind to really cover it in plastic so it won't get wet because the trip going there is really rocky you will really get wet because you will pass by a strong waves so cover all your belongings. It was raining when we went there so maybe that's why the waves are strong. Overall we had a blast! We indeed had a memorable stay. They even gave us a gift when we checked out they're so thoughtful. Thank you for the wonderful experience we will surely recommend you to our friends.

The environment is excellent for a holistic health resort. Wrapped within a forest with lots of trees and organic farming all over the place. Good: Spa treatments were really good. All therapists very professional and I had an extremely good experience. To improve: - it's 2 hour drive from the airport. The resort does not provide shuttle service from airport, I had to find my own transport. Lucky I found a very reliable and good driver. - customer service not up to such a luxury resort level. Some of them are good but some seem to be quite reluctant in answering requests. Like when I make booking, it takes them forever to reply, and no following up. I also sent my health report as requested at reservation, they never read it and still ask me about it when I arrive. What's the point. - food could be better. - decor and songs in the rest very outdated.

Room is good. Spacious. It says na for 2 pax lang but we can say na it is good for 4 pax hahaha we got 2 rooms pa. It's just that they gave us a room na malayo sa elevator, knowing that they are aware na we have 2 senior citizens. So they have the need to walk pa ng malayo talaga. The elevator has no sign/monitor where floor kana kaya hulaan hahaha. There's a smelly part lang between the entrance ng pa elevator for south wing at dun sa buffet restaurant, disturbing kasi mabaho talaga. Idk if it is the riprap or what. The lobby is not that cozy, hindi pa inaaccomodate ng seats yung mga senior so they had to sit nalang outside (sa stairs lol). One thing na good is when we added a 1 pax, accredited for senior discount padin and may free breakfast buffet na yay. From ₱1200 naging ₱800 something. Sulit. For the foods, pricey yung mga stalls but yep as expected since nasa hotel. Yung fruitas is range of ₱100-₱250 ata. Yung japanese & korean foods cart is range of ₱200-₱500 I guess. For each meal yun. Tinry namin yung ihaw nila every night, ang pricey din as I can upload the prices. Somehow unfair pa bc when you order, kunyari the Liempo, it is not by piece. Naka plastic na siya. So surprise ka nalang sa counter kung ilang grams yun since per 100 grams ang bayad. I hope they could improve na by piece nalang. Gulat kasi kami sa isang plastic pala na nakuha samin is ang daming inasal tas onti ng liempo eh mas gusto namin madami yung liempo, kinda like that. May 10% service charge din sa grill. However, the breakfast buffet is so good. Hindi ganon kadami yung choices but it is fine naman na. About sa beach, we enjoyed it so much. May mga seaweeds but reasonable naman. Malinis yung tubig. Medyo lumayo lang kami nung weekend bc super daming tao and I think majority is day trip kaya wala na din kami mapag stay'an na mga cottages. Madami ding beach activities kaya super fun. The sand is somehow fine and mabato kaya we still have our crocs during nagsswimming sa beach. For the pool, okay lang din. Bawal cotton so need talaga naka spandex. We haven't tried the bar, nung check-out namin ng monday eh hindi siya open. Hindi namin natry ng sunday bc madaming tao. For the traveling all the way from Cavite, we took the Kaybiang route. Nakayanan ng wigo namin even if we are fully packed hahahahaha. May mga paahon but the view is nice. Overall, goods ang experience. Our family wanted to go back padin. 🩷

The unit we stayed in for a night is clean and spacious. One thing we liked is they have a partition for the room and living room. There are few things we noticed that need improvements. No slippers for guests but there is one pair for the bathroom use. They don't provide toiletries such as shampoo, toothpaste , toothbrush, soap except for 1 roll tissue. The shower drain is slow to drain. The toilet bowl is not fixed, no sealant and quite moves when you rise up after use (it can cause accidents if ever it may crack due to moving). It needs to secure for guests safety. They provide kitchen wares but lack a fork and spoon. All in all, those mentioned flaws did not affect our stay, yet we still had a good sleep even when we turned off the aircon due to windy and cold weather on Tagaytay.
Altamare Dive and Leisure Resort Anilao
8.4/556 Reviews
It was wonderful experience in Altamare, even though the location is isolated from the city, it is worth to stay here. I have tried most food while we are staying here, and all of them are taste good and hygiene. Outside pool is clean and beautiful, you can see the sunset every evening. If you join the scuba diving, you will see many beautiful corals and small and big fish, even turtle (if you are in a right timing) Doing Snorkeling is also recommended. Satffs are very kind and friendly. But the wifi signal in the room was poor.
