Awesome location, excellent staff. Well presented. Try the Italian Restaurant which is a short drive or walk depending on the weather. We had a fabulous time.
super affordable. my room was really clean and the facilities like showers and kitchen was clean too. it was off season so not much crowd, plenty of space in the fridge for my food. Room had everything i needed, including a fan. Laundry services were slightly pricey at $6/wash and $6/dry, bring your own detergent, or buy some during store hours at the little shop near checkin. no vending machine for it! really rocky beach right behind the property, had loads of fun just hanging around.
The room was clean and looked exactly like the pictures. The staff were friendly and always willing to help. There wasn't a lot of parking, but the bathroom and room were both very clean. It's close to tourist attractions and very convenient for getting around.
Easy check-in, staff are easily contactable. If you are arriving after front desk hours, just give them a call. Easily instructions will be given.
Room is spacious. TV has the lodge's netflix account, so you may want to check in early :))
Only concern is door lock is one-way, recommend owner to consider better locks since right outside of the room door is the car park.
Initially, we were given room 101, but it was too noisy due to the external air conditioning units facing an inner courtyard of the building. Eventually, Chris moved us to room 412. Even though it was next to the laundry room, it wasn't nearly as loud, and we were finally able to get some rest. The room is very spacious, and the beds are large and comfortable. The shower pressure was fantastic. We had a pleasant stay. Thanks, Chris!
This hotel is absolutely fantastic! We chose their best room this time, and it was incredibly spacious with amazing views. The parking lot is also huge. We stayed for four nights and three days, and we'll definitely be choosing this place again on our next visit!
A hostel with very friendly and welcoming staff. The room was ok, in line with the description and photos. They have large available kitchen for guests, and also room for chilling out.
20 minutes drive from parking where you can get bus at the start of Tongariro Alpine crossing hike.
This historic hotel, while having somewhat outdated facilities and no phone charging stations, boasts excellent service and food 👍. A nine-hole golf course is right in front, free for hotel guests. Just inside the forest are the hotel's three hot spring pools, each with a different temperature! After a relaxing soak, you can enjoy a wonderful night's sleep!
As we had a glowworm cave tour booked, we decided to stay overnight in Waitomo. The guesthouse was ideally located, with a great restaurant just around the corner, which made dinner very convenient. We stayed in room 40, and the bedroom came with an electric heater. Free parking was also available.
We stayed one night en route to Hobbiton and liked it so much that we stayed another 2 later in our trip.
Great location, and Cambridge is a relatively easy base to get to other places from.
Beautiful decor throughout, nice finishings and really peaceful.
It was very busy during our stay (around Christmas/NY) so a little wait for food/drinks but that’s to be expected. We had positive interactions with all hotel and restaurant staff.
My only feedback is that the switches in the rooms have blue lights on them, which, for people that like a black-out room, can disrupt sleep. Hopefully an easy fix!

Very Good
This motel is located a very short drive from great restaurants and large grocery stores. The grounds and pool are immaculate, very friendly staff everywhere. Rooms are spotless and our deck was large with a table and 2 chairs. Lower floors have covered patios. Very nice! We would stay here again.
Really enjoyed the quiet location and the spacious rooms. The staff at the desk have us rooms next to our family which was great to hang out together and we were just up the hill from the big pool. This place is great for kids with the playground and tennis and basketball courts. Thanks for a great stay
Interesting hotel in the historical building with the huge ceiling! Spacious room, very friendly and helpful staff. About 10 min walking from central station
GGuest UserWe stayed as a family of 4 the rooms were emaculately clean, the beds were beautiful and very generous sizing, local milk in beauitful glass bottles connecting the local rural communiy was a great touch. All appliances were new and whisper quiet, which meant we all slept very well. Glenys gave us plenty of advice on where to take the children, local hot pools were a hit and the domain next door with playground gardens and basket ball courts for free family fun, the exploding geyser was great entertainment, very handy location to all the walking tracks up mt Te aroha, supermarket and shops easy walking distance from motel. The service was second to none. Rod and Glenys were amazing hosts who went above and beyond to make sure we all had the best stay. We had car trouble, and they opened their garage and time to help us get back on the road forever grateful.Truely, beautiful caring people. We will be back again soon and have told all our friends and family of our new favorite motel
Was browsing through Trip.com to book an accommodation for my overnight stay in Hamilton, saw this to be the cheapest among the others and decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, it was really good based on the reviews. I booked a family room which comes with 2 queen sized beds, a personal toilet, and free wifi. Not to mention the bed was really comfy also. The room was really clean and the service was great. It is an self check-in room which the landlord will send you the code for the main door and your room (Its a smart-lock system so no need to worry if someone sneaks in your room during midnight xddd). The only downside is that the air conditioner’s swing blade was broken and we couldn’t adjust the blade up or down, but it doesn’t affect our experience during our stay. Hopefully the landlord can fix this problem. Overall, its a great stay as the price was really cheap, especially for a family room.
DDominic SWas a nice room, very spacious and clean. The only complaint was that we had to drive to a different location to check-in. Used it as a stopping off point for activities on the north island, like Hobbiton and the thermal wonderland.
The best hotel in Waikato! Beautifully renovated, comfortable beds. Quiet. Good location and lots of Parking. Attention to detail was exceptional. Local food and beverage in the mini bar. Breakfast was à la cart and includes vegan options. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again.
