Amaya hills Kandy located within scenic mountain ranges in the heritage charm of the kingdom of Kandy. The Amaya Hills Kandy has the architecture and charm and culture of the city of Kandy ruled by the last Sinhalese king Sri Vikrama Rajasinha (1780-1832) till 1815 when the British deposed him and was succeeded by Gerrge III after holding out against colonial powers the Dutch and the Portugese The Amaya Hills reception has a Statue of the last king at the reception which is a huge open and deep balcony offering nearly 300 degrees of splendid views of the mountains The hotel is complete with swimming pool and the breakfast and dinner we had were splendid and had many authentic Sinhalese dishes.. The rooms are open to a balcony and it is a treat to have tea viewing the magnificent mountains.. The level of hospitality matches the famed Celonese hospitality and will be remembered for long and a must experience in Sri Lanka visit..
Coffee Bungalow Kandy

Kandy Lake Front
The Good The standout feature of The Coffee Bungalow is undoubtedly its staff, particularly Adrian, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Everyone we encountered was attentive and genuinely warm, making us feel well cared for. The food was another highlight—delicious and thoughtfully prepared. A particularly nice touch was when they packed us a complimentary to-go lunch for our train journey out of Kandy, which was a pleasant and unexpected gesture. The Bad The lack of air conditioning was a notable downside, especially given Kandy’s humidity. While the property has a charming colonial feel, the absence of a solid door between the bedroom and bathroom was an odd design choice. Although the toilet and shower do have louvered doors, privacy is somewhat compromised. Another issue was the challenging entry system—we found ourselves locked out one night, which was frustrating and inconvenient. The Ugly Unfortunately, the biggest drawback was the ant problem. While some level of bugs is to be expected in a tropical setting, the sheer number of ants, particularly in the bathroom but also in the bedroom, was hard to ignore. It definitely impacted our overall comfort. Overall, The Coffee Bungalow has a lot of charm and some truly wonderful hospitality, but there are a few quirks and inconveniences that might not suit every traveler. If you’re prepared for a bit of rustic charm and can handle the lack of AC and privacy, the warm service and great food may make up for the downsides.
Seerock the King's Domain

The hotel is nice, spacious beautiful room at check in we were treated to a refreshing juice. There is a big pool on the grounds and a big jacuzzi with hot water in the room.  Minuses of the hotel: Far from the attractions. Taxi from the center only go there for the price of pick me x2. Hotel taxi are 3 times more expensive. There are no stores and restaurants near the hotel, so inside the hotel prices for food x3, Also after 6pm it is dangerous to be outside because elephants are walking around. Now let's talk about the premium status and the five races. In 7 years of traveling, this is the first hotel that did not have a bathrobe, slippers and toothbrush and toothpaste in the room. The plumbing in the shower leaks, and the doors creak so much that you could call the spirits at night. Regarding the attention to the customer. I mentioned my upcoming birthday in conversation with the manager, but this fact was not used in any way to show any form of attention from the hotel. This is a huge miscalculation on the part of the staff at a premium hotel. We also had a late departure and our request to delay in the hotel for a couple of hours was refused. This was not due to the arrival of new customers, as the manager offered to extend our stay for a fee. For future customers this fact may be decisive in their choice. In general, the hotel is not bad, but the service and flexibility of the staff, as well as individual approach to customers, does not correspond to the premium level and requires improvement.

Kandy Central
The owners and employees at this hotel are so, so lovely. Unfortunately their hotel is not. I almost feel catfished as many of the photos highlighted the bar and pool party atmosphere. This was not the case - the pool was a decent size but in the shade and I actually didn’t see anyone in it. The pool party drinking shots I highly suspect were perhaps not a genuine source. The same goes for the bar which is massive and attended to by several lovely young, bored gentlemen as both times I popped up (once for dinner) I was the only patron. Again no party atmosphere or even people - which is a shame as it is a big venue. Fortunately next door was another venue for some decent cocktails and music which saved the boredom somewhat. The bedroom was a decent size with a small fridge (but didn’t work), the bathroom was small, felt dirty, no hand soap or soap for the shower (apart from leftover previous occupants - and that was gross). The pressure was poor making showering difficult and there was plaster on the floor from some damage - not cleaned up. The bed was massive and comfortable with air conditioning and a fan so sleep was good. Finally, and to repeat, the staff were lovely. Very hospitable and the location is about a ten minute walk to the Sacred Tooth Temple and Kandy Lake. So great location. Would I stay there again - no. Would I pop in to say hello to the owners and next door for a cocktails - possibly!

The location of this hotel is a bit hard to find, but it was really unexpected after entering the hotel. The hotel staff is very good, there will be drinks and drinks, the dinner is really good, and then the breakfast will be prepared in advance in the morning. The only downside is that the room is small, but the scenery outside is very good.
Hotel Sigiriya

The Sigiriya Hotel at the foot of Lion Rock is the biggest surprise of this trip. The price of less than 600 is very cost-effective. First of all, the service. The hotel staff have very good attitudes. They will give us freshly squeezed juice when we check it out, and they also take the initiative to help us connect to the hotel WiFi. The view of the hotel is great, and there is a small yard outside the balcony. There are singers playing and singing in the lobby in the evening, and the atmosphere is very good. If you are going to Lion Rock, it is highly recommended to stay here.

Of the pluses: hot water, sometimes boiling water and thick fluffy towels. Clean bed, mirrors, working surfaces. In the rest, the impression that got to the hotel at the time of the move.

Recommended, the location is very good, opposite the Lion Rock, and there are many food and drink options next to the hotel. The lobby decoration is very distinctive, and the room is not big but comfortable and clean. There are not many types of breakfast, but it is a pleasure to sit in the beautiful lobby to eat. And the price matches!
Serenity Sigiri Resort

One of the best hotels I lived in Sri Lanka, running by a local family. They are very nice and hospitable and even provided very delicious local breakfast with wild honey and welcome coconut water. The room was a quite big with high ceiling, clean and all the stuffs were available. The hotel is in the closest location to climb the rock mountain called Pidurangala to view panorama view of Sigiri and sunrise and sunset and very close to Sigiri Lion Rock as well. The hotel can provide car and jeep services. Jeep safari to see a herd and other wild animals were quite an experience to feel the wilderness and nature. This hotel is 100% recommended when you are in Sigiriya. If you need a car service for city to city travel, here is the service provider, called Danu and his contact number is (0774) 642 805. He is a nice and humble guy with certified local guide. We got his service from Sigiriya to Kandy to Yalla to Colombo, the trip went very smooth and we are happy that we covered all the attractions places with his assistance. Highly recommended!!
Heritance Kandalama

The heritage Kandalama Hotel is in the heart of the Gungal near a lake. The hotel was designed with consideration and respect for the environment, the animals that live there and the nature that surrounds the hotel. The room is cozy and well-equipped and includes a balcony overlooking the jungle. The infinity pool overlooks a lake where elephants and birds stay. We received a pleasant welcome from the hotel staff. The dining room is immersed in green and the breakfast is great. We received excellent service and personal attention from the entire staff at the hotel. We arrived at the hotel without luggage and they made sure to coordinate the arrival of the luggage for us. We liked Nalinda the kind guide from the hotel who took us on a morning tour and since then we became friends. Nalinda took care of our well-being even after we left the hotel. Thank you very much for a pleasant stay. Definitely recommended for those who want to rest and relax in a dreamy place.
