"The hotel offers ocean view rooms and a restaurant with sea views. It was a truly delightful and relaxing stay. I highly recommend opting for both breakfast and dinner, as it really enhances the experience. The front desk staff were incredibly warm, enthusiastic, and provided excellent service, which was commendable. For the Japanese-Western style ocean view rooms, the lower floors might get slightly less sunlight in the afternoon, but it doesn't detract from the overall comfort of the stay. There's also a public bath on the second floor. A standout feature of this hotel is definitely the front desk staff – a big shout-out to them again! If you plan on having dinner, it's highly advisable to book the two-meal-and-one-night package. Booking just the room and then adding meals separately will result in a significant price difference and won't be as cost-effective as the package deal. I highly recommend this hotel if you get the chance to visit. It's conveniently located, just a 10-minute walk from JR Kii-Katsuura station."

"The room was very clean and the front desk staff were really friendly. I asked for a room facing away from the railway tracks and they happily switched it for me. I booked this hotel for my Kumano Kodo trek. It's small but has everything you need: a bathtub, shower, desk, and carpet. I forgot to take photos, but the room was probably around 8-9 square meters. It's quite small, but the soundproofing was decent. I booked breakfast included, which was pretty simple. I arrived early because I had a train to catch, so I just grabbed a quick bite and headed out. It's located in the countryside, so there aren't many places to explore, and a lot of shops close early. I ended up getting dinner from a convenience store, which was conveniently located right next to the station. P.S. The electric kettle was surprisingly made of plastic!"

"The hotel's environment is fantastic, and the entrance garden landscape is absolutely beautiful. The seaside corridor is also stunning, and there's a dedicated hot spring area for foot soaks. The public outdoor hot spring views are also great. The only downside of my trip was the room I booked, which was supposed to have an indoor hot tub, but it turned out to be just a regular bathtub. Although the staff explained that the water was indeed from a hot spring, it still felt disappointing, so I didn't use it. I contacted Ctrip customer service about it, and their handling of the issue was very satisfactory. However, the public bath was a delightful surprise; both the environment and the soaking experience were incredibly comfortable. I highly recommend the dinner buffet. Even though it's a buffet, the ingredients are fresh, and the variety is extensive. You can even grill your own food. The tempura was exceptionally delicious, and they had Haagen-Dazs ice cream! Breakfast, however, wasn't as lavish and was quite simple. Overall, I'd say I'm satisfied."

"I had a wonderful stay at Shiraraso Grand Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shirahama. The reception staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and professional. When my family arrived for check-in, our names were already prepared in their system, and the entire process was completed quickly and smoothly. It was a great first impression. What impressed me the most happened after we went to enjoy the beach. Unfortunately, it started raining, and when we returned to the hotel, we were still standing outside near the entrance. To my surprise, one of the reception staff came out and brought us towels to dry ourselves. This thoughtful gesture was completely unexpected and made us feel genuinely cared for. The front desk team is truly attentive and considerate. The room was very clean, comfortable, and offered a fantastic view. Waking up and looking out at the beautiful scenery was one of the highlights of our stay. The price was also very reasonable for the quality of service, location, and overall experience. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations. Excellent staff, clean rooms, beautiful views, and great value for money. I highly recommend Shiraraso Grand Hotel to everyone and would happily stay here again in the future. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

The hotel offers a 24-hour front desk and an elevator. All 393 rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV. Private bathrooms are equipped with a hairdryer and slippers. Safes and electric kettles are available, and housekeeping service is provided daily. Parking is located away from Hotel Urashima. Please note that room numbers and views cannot be specified.

"The lobby has been completely renovated. The Sunrise Pavilion is expected to open on August 1st. The Mountain Pavilion was also closed one of the days we were there, so we stayed at the Nagisa Pavilion. The experience was just okay – no sea view, just the pier. Dining was on the 4th floor of the main building, and getting to the hot springs and the lobby required a long walk outside. Plus, the duck boat was out of service. The breakfast and dinner buffets were the same every day; after two consecutive nights, we got a bit tired of it. There was no room cleaning for consecutive stays either. However, the hot springs and Langyan Mountain were great! P3 shows the sunset from Langyan Mountain at the hotel – a beautiful blue and pink, absolutely stunning! The three long escalators at the Mountain Pavilion provide direct access to Langyan Mountain, saving your legs, and it's definitely worth a visit. I think the experience will be much better once the Sunrise Pavilion is finished and the duck boat resumes operation. Overall, the hotel staff were warm and friendly!"

When staying at SEN.RETREAT HONGU - Kumano Kodo Gateway, you'll be perfectly positioned to explore all that Tanabe has to offer. Staff at this property's front desk can speak 3 languages, including English. Parking is available at the property.

"The facilities and cleanliness were excellent, but because it's so new, there was still a strong smell of renovation. I had emailed ahead to inform them I'd be arriving late, and received a reply saying it was absolutely fine. However, upon arrival, the front desk was completely unstaffed, there were insects everywhere, and no code was provided to open the door to the self-service counter. Eventually, the Trip.com customer service actively contacted staff, and after waiting 25 minutes, I finally got the code for the front desk door. Only then could I self-check-in and get the room code. There was no other assistance throughout the whole process. I genuinely don't recommend this place for late arrivals."

Nanki Shirahama Onsen is one of the three oldest hot springs in Japan, appearing in the Manyoshu and Nihon Shoki. Please spend a relaxing time surrounded by greenery and the sea.

"Really loved it! The hot springs were so relaxing, and the breakfast spread was incredibly generous. The view from the window was lovely. On the second floor, there are lots of entertainment options, including massage chairs and a wide selection of manga to read. Just a heads-up: the hot spring pools switch between day and night, so make sure you don't go to the wrong one!"

One-minute stroll from Kii Katsuura station. From JPY 3.000.

"A cute and cozy hotel with two showers and one shared toilet. You need to book in advance for the hot spring, and each session is 25 minutes. A downside was that I couldn't get in touch with the hotel. I tried through Trip.com but it didn't work, and the hotel doesn't have an email address. There's a phone number, but I didn't use it as I wouldn't have been able to understand or communicate. However, in the end, the hotel staff on-site were very polite and accommodating."

For the price, this was a really average stay. The staff were average, as well as the food. The staff were friendly but they didn’t feel genuine. The Temple itself is very beautiful. The rooms are large, however the floor mattresses are completely worn out so you can actually feel the hard floor beneath you. I’ve stayed in a Ryokan before and their mattresses were still soft and comfortable so this Temples mattresses are definitely in need of an upgrade. Would I come here again? Probably not.

We stayed in this lovely family hotel for a night, we opted for room stay with dinner and breakfast. There's no shops or restaurant near by, so highly suggest to choose the stay with meals option, otherwise there's cooking facility within the room also, so I think it's possible to cook your own meal if necessary. Location - the hotel is just round the corner of the famous Shirasaki Ocean Park, we even had a good view of the park from our room. There's parking space right in front of the hotel building, so it's very handy. We cycled to the Shirasaki Ocean Park then to the hotel, so it worked out perfect. There's a very steep slop going up to the hotel though, but it wasn't an issue for us as we pushed out bikes up. Facilities - this is a family run hotel which believes was built a while ago, so can't compare it to all those new built hotels. The ”room” we stayed is more like a mini flat, it has a big kitchen, good sized bathroom with changing area, a separate toilet, a living room, bedroom and an extra ”sitting” area. The entire flat is in traditional Japanese style which we loved, and it has all facilities that made our stay comfortable. It also has coined washing machine and driers. We could even access to rooftop on the 4th floor to view the sunset. If you're looking for a quiet place to have quality time, then this is a good place to do so. There's also ”public bath” within the hotel, it's small but wasn't an issue for us. There's also shower and bath in the room also if you want some privacy. Food - all food was cooked and prepared by the hotel owner, and she's a talented chef! Dinner was impressive, breakfast was standard. The hotel owner is very friendly and lovely, it's definitely ”the place” to stay if you're visiting the area. We highly recommend it.

Highly recommended. Good private location, superb service, big indoor and outdoor onsen, superb view and exceptional service. I stayed during end of Nov. 24. The hotel is value for money indeed. The room is definitely not 17m as it s indicated. It s very spacious with great private sea bay view. I stayed during end here one night and stayed at KAMENOI hotel another night. I truly prefer warmth atmosphere here. The outdoor onsen here is certainly better as well! If I go to Katsuura again, I will definitely stay here.

It was out of our expectation. It is a standalone apartment that has everything you need. It is better to register all the guest’s information online via the email. That will make your check-in more convenient. We were impressed with the backyard. We planned to have dinner there. Unfortunately, it was cold and raining. We definitely wanna stay there again. It’s at a very great location, close to the shopping center, and the bus stop of Kumano hiking, just in a few mins walk. Even you don’t do hiking, it is also good for a bunch of friends for a retreat.
