"This is a fantastic onsen hotel in the Kotohira area. It's quite large, with rooms featuring private baths, as well as separate large public baths for men and women. They also have four private reserved onsen baths, and I managed to try all of them whenever I had a chance. In the mornings, they offer free Yakult, and in the afternoons, free popsicles. The food was relatively standard, but the room was very clean and spacious. It's also conveniently located for walking to Konpira-san Shrine."

"I love the location near the jetties, makes it so convenient to book tickets for my island hopping plans. There’s plenty of good eateries and 7-11 downstairs. Big bonus is the onsen bath and laundry facility on the 9th floor. Hotel even gives you a bottle of water incentive and they still give you fresh towels, which they hang on your room door when you don’t wish to have room make-up service. Another plus point is the airport limousine pick is within sister property - JR Clement Hotel

"Environment: The best choice for island hopping. It's conveniently located, not far from the pier. It's a quiet oasis right in the bustling city center. You can find plenty of food and shops right downstairs, just a 5-10 minute walk away.
Facilities: The main draw for me was the hot springs, perfect for relaxing after a day of island hopping. Very comfortable and soothing.

"Hotels in Shikoku, Japan, were cutting back on electricity due to the Fukushima disaster and had no air conditioning. When I arrived at this hotel, I asked the front desk if they offered any services like skinning and peeling. The novel *Red Sorghum* mentions this in the Gaomi County Gazetteer during the Anti-Japanese War.
If it's cold, you can add layers, but what about the heat? The room was over 30 degrees Celsius! A burly waiter privately complained to me. We ended up borrowing an electric fan to solve the problem.
Humorously, to combat the heat, the owner solemnly announced: everyone can get a free popsicle at the front desk every day.
The hotel rooms weren't large, but their only advantage was that they had windows, and they were so close to the station that you could practically touch the hotel building's wall as soon as you exited. There was also free breakfast and a 1760 yen buffet, which was excellent value. Borrowing bicycles was also a great experience. A few hundred meters north of Utatsu North Exit, there's an AEON, a secondhand shop selling various daily necessities, and a seafood shop to the east… all very interesting and charming experiences. Of course, here, you need a firm ”revolutionary will” to crush the poison of the decadent capitalist lifestyle.
Along the Seto Inland Sea coast, both Shikoku and Chugoku offer stunning views reminiscent of the Thousand Islands, especially the pure blue sea and sky merging seamlessly, a breathtaking sight in autumn. If Monet had been born in the Seto Inland Sea, he wouldn't have left behind ”Water Lilies,” but rather the magnificent and gentle blue sea for Impressionism!
However, the UV radiation is extremely strong, so women need a three-pronged approach: sunscreen, sun-protective clothing, and a sun umbrella! With prices soaring in Japan recently, I'm posting a few photos for comparison. It's easy to look good in clothes, but looking good in person is difficult—perhaps this is just gilding the lily."

"The location is very convenient, right next to a shopping street, and close to the recommended parking lot. The room size is decent, with a small living area. However, the cleaning wasn't very thorough. We stayed for two nights, and after the second day's cleaning, there were still a lot of hairs on the floor. Breakfast is until 9:30 AM, with last orders at 9:00 AM. But when we went down at 8:40 AM, there was almost nothing left, and they weren't refilling anything. While this might be to avoid waste, as a customer, the experience was quite poor."

We asked the driver if it's the one that waiting to pick us up. He said yes, but the hotel check-in time should be 3:00pm in the afternoon. He suggested us to have the sightseeing first and helped register the afternoon time for picking us instead. Also, he suggested taking our hand carry bags to the hotel front desk to avoid we carrying too heavy bags while travelling.
2) The lady staff (sorry for forgetting her name) at the lobby hall, who was very proactive. She came over immediately to help taking photos for us when she found we're taking a selfie. She also served us with free drinks for enjoying the sunset at the hall.
3) The staff at the reception desk are very professional. They helped us for check-in, explained the details of the time for meals, and provided all the information required.

"I booked an accessible room, and it was genuinely spacious. It's really comfortable to stay in a 35 sqm room in Japan. There was a slight odor when I first entered the room, but it cleared up after I turned on the air purifier.
Downside: The soundproofing isn't great.
Upside: Everything else is a plus. The location is excellent. There's an airport shuttle right downstairs, which costs 1000 yen and goes directly to the airport. There are frequent services, almost hourly.
Location: Whether you're going to the airport, Takamatsu Port for island hopping, or the JR station, everything is within walking distance. It's a 12-minute walk to Takamatsu Port, which was perfect for our island-hopping itinerary. Mitsukoshi department store is just a few minutes' walk from the hotel, and it has an LV store with plenty of stock. There are also many choices for drugstores, restaurants, and cafes.
The room was cleaned daily. One time, I forgot to hang the 'please clean' sign and thought it wouldn't be done, but when I returned to the room, it felt completely refreshed, which was a lovely surprise. I forgot to take photos of the room, so I've included a picture of the beautiful blue sea and sky instead."

DDaily happyDuring my recent trip to Japan, I had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that also serves as a wedding venue — and from the moment I arrived, the level of service was simply impeccable. The staff were not only gracious and professional, but also went out of their way to assist me at every turn, despite my lack of Japanese language skills. Their warm hospitality left a lasting impression and made me feel truly welcomed and cared for.
Though the room was compact, it was exceptionally clean and thoughtfully arranged. As a solo traveler, I found the space more than sufficient — cozy, comfortable, and a fantastic value for the price. It truly struck the perfect balance between affordability and quality.
A special mention goes to the amenities: the hotel provides a well-stocked amenity station at the reception, where guests can freely pick up whatever they need — a detail that reflects the hotel’s attention to guest convenience.
While the location is a little removed from the city center, this wasn’t an issue at all for me, as I had a rental car. The added bonus? Free parking on-site, which made my stay even more convenient and budget-friendly.
Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in so many ways. With its blend of elegant ambiance, exceptional service, and thoughtful touches, it became a peaceful and comfortable base for my journey — one I would gladly return to and wholeheartedly recommend to fellow travelers.

WWeidaHotel staff at reception desk is super helpful and very patient to assist customer.
Room is super clean and breakfast is nice.
We stayed this hotel for 4 nights for a golf trip. During our stay, there were a couple issues we have with car rental companies. Staff was very kind to help in local languange conversation with call center and local police individuals to effectively get thing done. I cannot image how long it will take for us to communicate with non-Japanese lauguage... Good job Route Inn hotel.

GGuest UserAlthough the location was a bit hard to find before check-in, after getting familiar with the road, it was really close to the port and very convenient. There was also self-service laundry and drying inexpensive, a good choice for a single person!

I had accidentally booked a smoking room and they were able to accommodate me and moved me to a non smoking room. Really grateful for that.

GGuest UserEnvironment: The best choice for island hopping. It's conveniently located, not far from the pier. It's a quiet oasis right in the bustling city center. You can find plenty of food and shops right downstairs, just a 5-10 minute walk away.
Facilities: The main draw for me was the hot springs, perfect for relaxing after a day of island hopping. Very comfortable and soothing.
Service: The service was just average. The breakfast was good though. Starting the day of island hopping with a warm breakfast was great.

WWenWen Hovery happy stay! staff very helpful we are very appreciate, just the staff only can speaks little english, we use the apps translator so still very smooth. from airport to hotel, you can take the limousine bus, ticket buy ar the machine, bus stop just right outside at No.2 platform, has airport staff might guide you, travel time about 20-25 minutes can get there, the stop just right at the hotel, the market street just behind the hotel, Takamatsu shops testaurant closed quite early, most of that closed about 8, just some abit late.. if you want to find dinner restauant must go earlier. many Izakaya (居酒屋) around the hotel but they needs to book reservation, walk in almost full!! Car park is ¥1400 per night, outside car parks is more cheaper but inside the hotel that convenient if you bought some stuff 😆 but only few inside, no advance resersations, its first come first served every night, so u have to go early to get the parking
