Travelers Reviews of Akita Prefecture Hotels

Royal Hotel Odate

A hotel near Daguan Station and Akita Dog Inn, the staff are very polite and the service is very intimate. The ramen noodles at night are a bit early but delicious and the portion is moderate. The hot spring is comfortable, the breakfast tastes wrong and has local characteristics, but unfortunately I can't meet the Akita Dog in the museum. If you have the opportunity to go to the Grand Pavilion, you will also consider staying.

I stayed here the night before my son's tournament. It was clean, the bed was the perfect firmness, and the pillows had cushions that were just right for sleeping and relaxing, so I had a very comfortable stay. The hotel staff also greeted me cheerfully and made my stay pleasant. This time I went after work and arrived in the middle of the night...I also left early in the morning, so next time I'd like to stay a little longer without being rushed. I look forward to staying here again.

The hotel facility is relatively good. However, the hotel policy seems to have a big problem. We checked in the hotel at 7pm, they said our room rate was for check-in between 23:30~05:00 and that check-in other than this period will have a surcharge of Yen $2000. At normal hotel booking, who would alert the check-in time is at midnight??!! OK, we assume we overlook this strange rule, we paid. However, two days later we stay at the same brand hotel in Aomori, I clearly requested a non-smoking room at booking (as I did same for all hotels at the trip), but the receptionist insisted that we didn't. They said they don't have a non-smoking room for us unless we pay Yen $2000 for additional charge. We don't understand the game! Supposing all non-smoking rooms are at the non-smoking floor; if they have one, they should have given us free. If not, how can they make one with the additional charge ?
Towada Hotel

This place is extraordinarily overpriced for what it is. I expected much more amenities and service. Although the staff were friendly and courteous, the place was fairly bland. The onsen was mediocre and there were no refreshments afterwards unless you wanted to go to a vending machine. Even Dormy Inn provides refreshments after the onsen but at Towado Hotel having to pay for them and not even the nice ones is ridiculous when you have to pay so much to stay here. The same for the relaxation chair. It is coin-operated not complementary. I would not recommend staying here if you’re looking for a luxury experience because although you pay for that, it’s definitely nowhere near that. Our Western style room was very basic, and it just didn’t have those special finishing touches I had hoped for.
Towada Prince Hotel

The location is unique, embracing the beautiful scenery of Lake Towada, and the free shuttle bus is very good and important. Enjoy the beautiful maple scenery while taking a bath in the evening, although the bathhouse facilities are relatively simple. When you stay in a room facing the lake, you will encounter a very beautiful morning glow. The scenery you see while walking along the lake has its own characteristics compared to the Oirase stream, making it a great place to take photos. The variety of breakfast and dinner is acceptable, the dining order is very good, fish is more delicious than beef, but it is said to be French food, and the service is not good enough. The soup is all finished, and the bread is not even served. It is served after a reminder. However, I feel The baguette for dinner was very delicious. The room was clean but the mattress was a bit damp…

Room size is good consider modt japan hotel is quite compact. They provide choice of essential oil and eye mask and beaded pillow upon request. The only disappointment is the buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. The buffet dinner is more for group tour.
Toyoko Inn Akita-eki Higashi-guchi

The location of this hotel is super good right at train station & parking is in the same building w reasonable price of $520 yen. The only thing we are really unhappy is about the front desk the lady there are not helpful & sound a bit rude to us. We requesting 2 extra pillow she insist us to go down drink desk to collect it, we said we are tired can they send up, but she just said NO, w a rude voice. For Japanese famous of good service & polite this is very rare to meet but we are unfortunate.
Hotel Folkloro Kakunodate
9.4/542 Reviews
The facilities in the deluxe twin room are not luxurious, but they are clean. This hotel is very suitable as a base for traveling around Kakunodate. Although it is the red leaf season, restaurants in Kakunodate almost never close after 4:30 pm. The advantage of the hotel offering dinner to its guests is obvious.
KAMENOI HOTEL TAZAWAKO

The hot springs are great. You can soak in the open-air hot spring right next to the snow. It only takes about 10 minutes to drive to Tazawa Lake and Nyutogo Hot Spring, and the location is convenient. But the food at dinner was really not that good.
Akita Castle Hotel

My stay at Akita Castle Hotel was truly an unforgettable and wonderful experience. The hotel is located in the center of Akita City, and it is very convenient to access tourist attractions. From the hotel, it is easy to go to local tourist attractions such as the Akita Museum of Art and Selion Tower, and there are plenty of restaurants and shopping facilities in the surrounding area. As for the room, I was particularly impressed with its size and cleanliness. The modern and elegant interior is designed with a sophisticated design, and the calm colors provide a comfortable and relaxing feeling. The large windows offer a beautiful view of Akita City, and the tranquility that makes you forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The service of the staff was also very impressive. From check-in to check-out, each staff member was kind and responded quickly and courteously to any questions. In particular, the front desk staff were able to give detailed information about local recommended spots and restaurants, and were quick to respond to any problems, so I was able to enjoy my stay with peace of mind. In terms of food, the hotel restaurant offers dishes that make use of local Akita ingredients. In addition to fresh seafood, you can also taste local cuisine unique to Akita Prefecture, all of which was exquisite. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of Japanese and Western dishes, making it a great way to start your day. Overall, Akita Castle Hotel is an attractive accommodation that can accommodate any purpose, from business to sightseeing. The clean and comfortable rooms, the warm service of the staff, and the exquisite location will ensure that all guests have a great stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to travelers who, like me, are looking for a comfortable and pleasant experience.
