We needed a hotel room close to Catania’s airport because we had an early morning flight. I was reluctant to book at this hotel because it got horrible reviews. I took a chance and we were pleasantly surprised! The hotel is reasonably priced, the rooms are clean and it’s really close to the airport! They have free shuttle service to and from the airport. We needed a 5am shuttle and they were right on time! We were scared to eat there after all the negative reviews, but the food and wine was great! They had a friendly staff and provided great personal service! We both had delicious pasta dishes and actually all the food looked good! The only negative was the look of the hotel outside. They clearly need to fix up the property on the outside, but I’d prefer a clean room and a good dinner! Don’t listen to all the bad reviews, this hotel is perfect for a one night stay before or after a flight!

First of all, the location is perfect and the rooftop makes it possible to relax and have the best view over Palermo. Let’s talk about the staff. Never in any destination I’ve meet a staff so friendly, funny, helpful and generous. The hostel has everything you need, kitchen, free food, music instruments, play rooms, amazing outdoor areas, bar, and a pool is upcoming too. The rooms are really clean and spacey. Bed and room temperature is comfortable. The only problem was that I had to leave.

All very friendly. Vincenzo, Noemi, Giuseppe, Selenia, Cetty, Little Sophia... Veramente, TUTTI! EXCELLENT!!! We have been traveling all around the world, and by far this hotel deserves more Stars than the ones allocated. Really we always look for a good location, and for a hotel with good reviews, regardless of how many Stars Hotels we have to pay for. There were not too many choices in Palermo. This hotel was close to the Train and Bus Stations. We could not find any flights due to the flights cancellations because of Volcan Etna decision to erupt unpredictably, therefore, we arrived at Palermo by bus. This hotel was close to the Bus Station, after so many hours in uncomfortable seats at Marino Bus, (next to a table seats where 4 persons could not stretch their legs in a long journey, from Bari to Palermo, shame on you Marino Bus, you should not sell table tickets in a journey where people need to sleep ,- more than 8 hours travel). Anyway, thank God! we found 55 Aira Hotel, no need to pray so the water does not stay in the sink when brushing your teeth. No need to pray so the toilet flush well. No need to pray so that you end up showering with water covering your feet. If we could give 10 Stars to 55 Aira, we will. 🙂

The room was okay. The staff was okay. The breakfast wasn’t really good. There wasn’t any kind of fruits, just pastries joghurt and two kind of cold cuts. and streets were really so i wouldn’t go there again. I think if you go to palermo you should go to an apartman or airbnb. We should do that too

We have loved our stay. The room was very spacious, the location unbeatable and the service was friendly. This hotel is sophisticated, tasteful and wonderfully affordable. Some remarks: on Saturday night the music from the rooftop was loud. Our bathroom toilet was a bit smelly, but not unbearably so. We had drinks on the rooftop, where there was w nice urban vibe.Breakfast was delicious.

The room was very large, the bed was very spacious. The room is large but it lacks a shower rather than a bathroom. The sea view, very beautiful. The breakfast is very nice and complete. I am a gentle staff because 50% of them are sympathetic and the other half to be reviewed. Hotel is chic ultra chic Along the town of small bemoles. The swimming pool is closed at 19H too early. Wi-Fi works very well

One of the most comfortable hotels I stayed in during this trip to Italy. The scenery is good, the environment is good, the hotel looks very new, the lady at the front desk is beautiful and enthusiastic, always smiling and talking. There is also a swimming pool. Parking is a bit far away, but drive around the road, park the car and walk up the steps to the hotel. 17 euros per day. breakfast is also good

We stayed at this hotel two separate times during our stay in Sicily in April 2022. It's a lovely hotel. It's right in the middle of so many sights and felt safe. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable with big bathrooms. One of our rooms had a view of the hills and the other was street side. My mom's room had a huge balcony that we spent time on soaking up the sun and the sounds of the city. My main reason for writing this review to highlight the AMAZING care the staff provided to my mom and her friend. They caught COVID and were quarantined to this hotel. I was terrified leaving them in Sicily while I went home but the staff took such good care of them. They knew their room number and would ask how my mom was feeling when she called to order breakfast (which is a great breakfast by the way). They helped coordinate retesting. They reassured my mom and were always available to help. My mom and her friend were living off room service and would rave about how great the food and wine was. One employee in particular, Barbara, went above and beyond. She would stop by to see my mom and help her with whatever she needed, such as going to the supermarket to get medical supplies. They were stuck there over Easter and she even brought my mom a chocolate Easter bunny :) and she brought them flowers too and it really brightened their day. My mom and her friend both said she had such a pleasant personality and made them feel cared about and loved. I truly believe their great service actually helped my mom and her friend recover quicker. It was so reassuring knowing that they were in caring hands. We want to go back as soon as they can and will pick this hotel again. Thank you everyone who works there!

The hotel is very basic, no kettle in the rooms virtually no lounge area, just two sofa's in the corridor between reception and restaurant. The staff were pleasant and the sheets were changed every 3/4 days and towels daily. However, the restaurant was a huge problem. We have stayed at hotels over Christmas in Spain, Portugal, Malta, Cyprus, Tunisia and the Canary Islands and never have we had such an abysmal choice of food. We booked half board but, No buffet just a menu with a choice of two starters and two choices of two main dishes. Dessert is extra. I paid for half board, not half of half board, no desserts included?? Virtually half and sometimes all dishes were pasta which is not good if you want to eat healthy or if like me you are diabetic. Breakfast had even less choice. Cereal, bread, croissants, and cakes. One choice of sliced cheese and sliced ham. Yoghurt, tomato juice and peach no orange juice, no hot dishes at all. Cannot recommend this hotel unless you just want a cheap place to sleep. I mentioned the staff were good, i will praise Miguel in the restaurant who besides being multi lingual was very good at his job, trying to find alternatives, some not on the menu, to help with my dietary requirements The Hotel is a 3 star the restaurant i would rate a zero.

One of the best service in all my life! I was in an emergency in the middle of the night, I called more than 10 hotel/b&b in Catania and NOONE accepted my reservation ( hotel 4 star too and so on ). At 03.30 a.m. I found this place and Mr Domenico was so kind to give me a room for the night so I could rest for few hours before my flight. If he didn't help me I would have slept in my car close to the airport. Bad experience with an HAPPY ending thanks to him. I Recommend 100%! Uno dei migliori servizi in tutta la mia vita! large room, plenty of space where we didn't feel cramped. large bath which was great. nice sheets and towels. a pleasant location right on the ocean. a bit noisy but not bad. friendly front desk. make sure you see all the sites you can -- Mt. Etna.

We picked this property after being told to cancel another B&B that did not take check ins after 9p. This property was centrally located and the front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. The property looks like it was recently renovated, and feels more like a city apartment complex than hotel (not necessarily a bad thing). The room was basic but very spacious and clean. The included breakfast spread was better than average, with a variety of options to choose from and a good amount of staff keeping things stocked and clean. The front lobby area also had seating and snacks and beverages available to purchase. The only negative I have is the street below or window was very noisy all hours of the night. Bring your ear plugs.

The service staff are very kind, enthusiastic and help solve various problems! Since the flight arrives in the middle of the night, contact the hotel to book the pick-up beforehand, and the room will be reserved until midnight. The driver who picked up the airport was also very kind. Even in the cold midnight, I felt that the driver warmly welcomed you and assisted in getting on and off the luggage! Hotel location is located in the city center, restaurants, department stores are nearby, walking distance! I was very surprised to find that the Christmas market was right next to the hotel. I was very happy. The mood becomes more beautiful! Will visit again next time

The hotel is on a hillside, and most rooms with pool views have sea views, but they cannot reach the seaside. The room is relatively spacious, the bed is moderately soft and hard, the bedding quality is good, the bathroom is separated from wet and dry areas, and the electric sunshade on the balcony is very good. The breakfast is quite satisfactory, with a reasonable mix of salty and sweet. There are two pizza shops just outside the hotel door. One of them is very noisy because locals sing karaoke every night. The other pizza shop looks like a dessert shop and is of good quality. There is also a small supermarket. It closes early. The highlight of the hotel is the swimming pool, a small circular swimming pool with a depth of 4 meters. It is quite interesting to practice diving. The disadvantage of the hotel is that on the terrace opposite the main building, the music is a bit loud every night. You can hear it even if you close the balcony door, and it is not turned off until around 11:30, which affects your sleep.

Very good location for this hostel. I recommend if you’re visiting Catania and only need a place to sleep! The staffs are friendly and for the price it is worth it. Everything is walkable by distance, even to the airport is possible! Took me 55 minutes (I did it 5am in the morning, I don’t recommend doing it any other time of the day) as it might get busier..the pavements are okay but not the best for pedestrians

The most satisfying hotel on this trip, room, breakfast, swimming pool, beach, beautiful scenery. I would also like to thank the Uber driver. The flight was delayed and we arrived at 3am. The taxi charges 50, but Uber only charges 38. The driver was very enthusiastic and used translation software to chat throughout the whole process, 👍🏻

Close to the city center and main shopping area. Car not needed and parking in the area of the city a challenge. Room was spacious and tidy but needed updating. The refrigerator only functions when you're in the room making it a challenge to keep anything cold. Comfortable shower but the door barely worked as some plastic hardware was brittle and broke. Friendly staff was helpful when approached but did not go out of their way to anticipate problems. Breakfast was extensive and the bar (coffee) staff very friendly and professional. Note that we booked two rooms in anticipation of a working family member but had to cancel one after she got COVID. The hotel refused to provide a refund for the cancelled room AND we paid additional for an extended stay in the remaining room as we waited for a negative test while she quarantined in another location. Additionally, while the staff (mostly) observed COVID protocol, most of the guests did not.

The hotel is very well located a few steps from the main shopping street and a further few steps to the old town and all the main attractions. The room had everything we needed, the staff were very helpful and the breakfast had a wholesome offering especially on the sweets side, the ricotta cakes were amazing.

The location of the hotel is good, at the junction of the old city and the new city, on the second main road. With a long history and luxurious style, the breakfast room is like a small palace, and the breakfast variety is also rich. It is the old problem of this type of hotel. The air-conditioning on the upper floors is loud, but later it was changed to a lower floor. The service is good.

There are no dishes in the room except for two paper cups.:( We asked for two cups, but they gave us plastic ones. This is strange, because the hotel has a bar and a restaurant. Breakfasts are delicious. The location is a bit far from the center and in a rather dirty area, but there is a beach nearby (albeit very dirty) and a nice tourist promenade with cool restaurants for dinner. The cleanliness does not correspond to 4*, the rooms are very old.

location nice in front of the sea, but we didn't go to the beach as there is no access... you have to walk 15 min. breakfast acceptable, buffet not super full. pool closed at 6.00 pm ((in August)). about the room: old fashion, but ok. the first night we didn't sleep at all... AC too loud very loud, like you have a truck in the room all night. we asked to change the room, as we thought there was a problem in there. receptionist found another one, but same result. counted no. of plugs... we couldn't charge our phones at once. check out at 11 am as usual, but al 9.00 someone knocked to check the mini bar.

The hotel is great, the most central part of Catania, in the middle of the church and Elephant Square, but very quiet and private. The whole hotel has a good smell of aroma, simple but not simple, the bed is very comfortable, sleepless every day. The staff is very good, the English is OK, there are a lot of delicious people around, they will also give you advice. There are homemade toiletries, carefully crafted with Sicilian fruit, great. There is a private spa room on the first floor, you have to book in advance, the technique is very good ~ cost-effective. The room is very spacious, Italy has lived the largest room, hahaha
