Hotel Rural la Puebla

This hotel is in a beautiful and quiet area in Valle de Sedano, near a waterfall. The hotel itself is quaint and rustic. The staff are very nice and friendly. The younger staff, the young men, speak English, which is really appreciated as it’s not always the case in Spain, and not all of us speak Spanish. The room we were given was a bit smaller than the photos, but still comfortable. The ceilings are low on the top floors, so watch your head. The only thing I can say negative about this hotel is that there is no parking possible nearby as it it up on a hill with very narrow uphill streets to get there. You have to leave your car at the bottom of the hill outside the village and climb up by foot to the top. Yes, their website stipulates this but not on the Trip.com website. As my husband is a civil handicapped person, we were exceptionally able to arrange to leave our car near the hotel for our short stay, but it was REALLY exceptional. If you are handicapped or mobility reduced, you shouldn’t stay there, unfortunately. Anyway, the drive up to and down from the hotel on those unbelievably narrow maze of streets is really too stressful. I don’t recommend it. But if you are otherwise young and fit, I highly recommend it. It’s peaceful, beautiful, amazing scenery, good food and friendly staff.

Since 2013 I have been staying at this hotel during four weeks (second week of May - first week of June) a year. Since my first time here, I have felt like being at home. All personnel are very welcoming and do everything they can to help you enjoy your stay. Their offer full breakfast with great hot and cold options; and you can enjoy it while contemplating one of the most beautiful views over Plaza Mayor (main square). Furthermore, location is unbeatable. Overall, I love staying here year after year; I already consider them part of my extended family!

Hotel Alda Centro Ponferrada

Áurea Convento Capuchinos by Eurostars Hotel Company

The Aurea Convento Capuchinos was a very pleasant surprise as I didn't know exactly what to expect. None of the photos online did justice to this lovely hotel. The building is centuries old and historic but the interior hotel was built to within the original walls and built to perfection with big rooms and beautiful modern bathrooms. We booked a suite with a Juliet Balcony overlooking the ancient architecture of the historic Segovia Arts building across the road. The room was very quiet as the hotel is about 2 blocks off the crazy center of old town, or the ”Plaza Mayor.” As long as you love walking a bit, this location is perfect. The Aqueduct is just a short walk away but the hotel is far enough away to be in a quiet area rather than in tourist craziness. We didn't use the spa as it wasn't operating when we arrived--maybe next time! The hotel offers a big breakfast for $20 per person, or you can just choose coffee and pastry or whatever you like. There isn't actually a restaurant or bar on site, but there sort of IS...the room service menu including bar beverages are available in the beautiful bar area and the limited menu was done very, very well. We actually called for the room service lady twice and ordered in the bar area, totally enjoying our meals. Since it's not actually a bar, you could bring in your own beverage and enjoy it in the beautiful lounge area if you choose. I cannot say enough about how absolutely stunning this hotel is within the ancient architecture of this four-hundred year old historical building. It is not your typical or average hotel; it is wonderfully unique with a staff who aim to please.
Parador de Segovia
4.2/558 Reviews
Structurally beautiful, Great views and lovely room. ….but, something uncomfortable about staying there. Weird that we were not allowed outside on Saturday night because there was a wedding… we were clearly in the way as just ordinary guests! We felt like prisoners in our room , only alternative was the bar… which had a football match on the tv. We quite liked listening to the loud wedding pub band from our balcony until late into the evening. So, overall - not at all what we expected from a parador!

Excellent location within walking distance from Train station, but I would recommend if you are ””walking ””to follow Google maps driving directions instructions much easier and clearer The hotel was within walking distance of the tourist centre. Restaurants were still putting out tables at 2100 and very reasonable priced. Great choices at the breakfast different types of, cheese, ham ,bread ,cereals and too good selection of cakes Great hotel, great breakfast and great location
Hotel Tudanca-Aranda II

This was a stopover hotel on our way back to the port of Bilbao, it is located right beside the motorway in Aranda de Duero, the home of one of the best wines in Spain, Ribera del Duero. This hotel is also a service stopover with large Cafe and service station, the hotel is located at the back with plenty of free parking or underground secure parking for an extra 10 euro. We parked outside with no problems. This was a brilliant choice as we just wanted B & B and dinner inclusive, and boy did we get it, the room was lovely and had everything you want including a lovely bathroom, maybe except UK TV but hey we are in Spain so should speak the language. After a rest we went for dinner, as per normal in Spain restaurant did not open until 8.00pm, the menu was extensive and in English which was very nice rolls were brought to the table and we ordered a bottle of wine and a soft drink whilst looking at the menu. Lovely menu wit something for everyone meat fish salads, three course plus coffee and a liqueur, we were very happy, when we came to pay the bill we found that all drinks were in included in our half board payment. Break fast is served from 7.30am and buffet style but you had a large choice of English breakfast items , smoked salmon, cold meats, cheese and pastries , toast you name it and it was on the buffet. The staff in reception and the restaurant were very kind and helpful, I cant praise this hotel enough and we will definitely stay here again on our next Spanish road trip.
