The rooms were smaller than seen on the picture. The place was not so far from the city. It wasn't easy to get to the rooms. You had to walk a long way, passing through many doors with your suitcases in your hand.

Neat enough old hotel in the heart of Copenhagen near all things of interest, we enjoyed being able to walk out and find food, transport, parks and shops close by. The hotel itself is a classic old Copenhagen building which shows its age and while I'm sure some find it charming, I would say it's a bit below the standard you come to expect from more modern buildings. The staff was friendly and wanted to accommodate us although the cleaning staff seemed so into their own business that they wouldn't even notice us as we tried getting into the hotel's single elevator, rushing in before us so we almost collided as it didn't seem they were gonna come back inside the lift having just exited. No polite apologies either and on top of that the hallway was at almost all times we came through them, day or night, full of trolleys with used towels, jackets hanging on random hooks and generally just felt cluttered. Don't know if this was on all floors but it gave a weird impression disorder walking through the already-creaky hallway. As for the room itself, it covered our needs and we didn't have issues with noises from other guests other than those walking through the hallway but at least the walls, floor and ceiling didn't cause disturbance. The beds were a little too soft for our liking and left us feeling sore the day after. Also a shame we didn't get the double-bed we had requested during the booking process. Somehow they mixed that up and reception staff didn't seem to know what our booking involved when we showed up. We decided the twin beds provided could be pushed together instead and leave it at that as we had been up at 4 in the morning and were exhausted. A final note on the room would be the weird furniture choices. You get these bed side tables that look like a school kid's wood working project, kind of rough around the edges and felt very cheap and sort of sloppy from a decorating point of view. In contrast, the reception cafe has a wonderful interior and is very charming so I was a fair bit disappointed that the room gave me this impression. All in all, the hotel covered the features it should but I had really expected better from the impression I got when making the booking originally. Location is, however, enough of a pull to make up for the negative aspects. Perfect location for sightseeing and access everywhere.

The location is actually great. But the pavement half way through is uneven and it was hard pushing my luggage. If you have light luggage you can walk. If you have heavy luggage and 3 bags like I did. Get the cab or shuttle. The shuttle is only on weekdays. I flew on a weekend. So I had to get a cab. Service: they were very nice all round. Especially the restaurant staff. They were absolutely slammed during service but kept apologising while I waited for someone to attend to me. And were always polite. Lots of people at reception so no major queues and able to help with my queries even googling the cost in my home currency for me. Cleanliness: room was super clean and I LOVE the grohe shower. They offer shower gel, hand wash and some form of conditioning shampoo. Unfortunately that doesn’t work for my hair so I didn’t use it. But if your like me and need separate conditioning just bring some conditioner. If not your set. Amenities: they have a pool. Though since I live in Asia this isn’t some big thing. But my friend said it is expensive in terms of use fees. If I remember correctly hotel guests can use it at certain times. The sky bar is lovely… it got very busy in the evening. Great view, even if your room doesn’t face the water just head here to relax with the view. Restaurant was good for breakfast. Lots of options, including organic options. English full breakfast station. Yoghurt and cereal options. Bread and cheese stations. Personally I like pancakes but they had none. Otherwise great. It’s buffet so you can load up for the day. I didn’t attend the lunch and dinner dining though they were super nice. There are sandwich and snack options in the lobby. Also some basic needs such as tampons and toiletries sold. Surrounding they have the cafe Krysten perle which appears lovely from the outside. I just personally chose to skip dinner so I didn’t eat here either. But it’s a super easy walk. The aquarium is lovely. Also super easy walk. Quite a nice place to walk a bit. Overall had a good stay. Great for a one night stay with the added aquarium trip. Would like to stay again though it really needs a shuttle on weekends.
Absalon Hotel

We recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. We got the Double Absalon Room. Here’s a breakdown of our thoughts: The Good • Great Location: The hotel is conveniently located near København Station, making it easy to travel around the city. • Breakfast Selection: The breakfast spread was decent, with a good variety of options to start the day well. • Helpful Staff: The female staff members at the check-in counter were friendly, approachable, and provided great service. The Bad • Inconvenient Room Access: Our room was located further down the hallway, requiring us to navigate multiple steps and doors while carrying luggage. This was quite inconvenient and unexpected. • Privacy Concerns: Despite placing a “Do Not Disturb” sign on our door, staff still entered our room while we were out. We returned to find chocolates and a card left inside, which, while a thoughtful gesture, would have been better received if handed to us personally at breakfast or reception. • Unsafe Bathroom Design: The bathtub and shower setup felt outdated and unsafe. My wife nearly slipped, and the floor flooded after each use, forcing us to use towels to prevent slipping. • Lack of Convenience: There were limited charging points in the room, and we had to rearrange furniture just to create a charging station. • Small & Uncomfortable Bed: The bed was surprisingly small, even for two average-sized Asian adults (both around 1.7m tall). It felt cramped and uncomfortable. • Strange Room Layout: There was an additional door leading to another room, which made us feel uneasy, especially after the unexpected entry from staff earlier. Overall Impression The hotel did not meet our expectations for a 4-star stay. It felt more like a 3-star experience, and given our concerns about privacy, convenience, and comfort, we wouldn’t recommend it to travelers looking for a relaxing stay. In contrast, we had a much better experience at IBIS, which offered better facilities and a more enjoyable stay.

The staff were friendly, even at the early hours of the morning, and it’s like 2 minutes or even less to the metro station (Nørrebro) on the main city line. Very easy to get to and the beds were super comfy

My Girlfriend and I visited Copenhagen mid December for a Christmas break. We knew we wanted to be within easy reach of the city centre and the Christmas markets without having to pay too much. This location was perfect, it was a short walk from the metro station and the travel around the city was cheap. We opted for the larger room with our own bathroom, and upon entering the room we put the two single beds on the ground level together to make a double. Upon entering the hotel, the staff were friendly and approachable and the hotel felt very social and friendly with downstairs areas for people to chill, and even a kitchen area to store and prepare your own food. We arrived early and were able to leave our luggage safely in lockers until check in (they offered different sized lockers to cater for bigger cases.) The room was clean and offered two wardrobe areas for us to hang our stuff. the curtains which went round the bed and the mood lighting which could be personalised, as well as the lack of windows made for a very good sleep. The smaller pods also looked cool, we just opted for the larger space for our belongings and again at a very good price, even for 3 nights. There was plenty of option for snacks and drinks in the hotel lobby and you just needed to use your wristband to add them to your final bill. I would definitely recommend staying again and would like to see this sort of hotel and price in more cities. Although we did not opt for breakfast, it was my understanding that if you did you were given vouchers to use at local nice breakfast places. We made use of the coffee machine, and there was also a free kettle to use if you had your own tea bags.

The Hostel is really cool. They have loads of events everyday for you to drop in to. They give a free beer everyday. Lots of events for friends and solo travellers to mingle. The bus outside also goes straight to the airport. One thing that I didn’t like though was there wasn’t a curtain for the pods. The pot door is quite wide and without a curtain there’s no way to get privacy while in the bed.

The two male receptionists at the night shift are fabulous. They are not only nice and helpful in giving grocery and money exchange information, but also very willing to share the Copenhagen culture with us. They are very friendly which has given us remarkable hospitality. The room is not big but very enough for 2 person, yet, the tidiness is satisfying with this price. The window outside is the road and sea, quiet and beautiful, very enjoyable living. There is no toothpaste, toothbrush or slippers, please prepare for yourself, given that the hotel price is really low compared to other options. Will definitely recommend to friends or family who wanna come visit Copenhagen.

The only advantage of this hotel is that it is conveniently located near the central railway station, next to the subway m3 & 4, and there is a convenient 5c bus to the airport (cash only), and it is only 300 meters away from the side door of the railway station. Next, let's talk about the magical foreign hotel services: 1. Early check-in charges 200dkk 2. Luggage storage, 10dkk/h, free storage is only in a few lockers 3. Check-out time is 11 am, late charge 300 4. The curtains are very light-transmitting, and the room feels bright at 7 am Through this hotel, I fully appreciate the difference in service. Domestic hotel peers are too excellent, and the price of downtown hotels in Colombia is really far ahead, basically no one is less than 2k.

Excellent Location, but Room for Improvement in Services The hotel’s location is ideal, with direct access to the lake and a beautiful surrounding area. Regarding amenities, while there are several options (sauna, gym, steam bath), the overall experience does not match that of other Marriott hotels I have visited. There were some shortcomings in the room that should not have been present. For instance, the shower gel dispenser was empty upon my arrival, and I had to notify the reception. Items such as toothbrushes, bathrobes, and slippers were not provided in the room but could be collected from the entrance. I would prefer these essentials to be available in the room initially. The breakfast was satisfactory, though not as rich as in other Marriott locations. There was a delay in the process of entering the restaurant, with only one staff member handling guest seating. This occasionally led to wait times of up to 10 minutes during peak hours (notably on 4 out of the 8 days of my stay). However, the staff was impeccable—extremely polite, professional, and always willing to assist. If some improvements are made in amenities and organization, the hotel could offer a more complete and enjoyable stay.
