Hotel near Pudong International Airport Area,Shanghai

The place is in quite bad condition and the staff very unfriendly. I read on Google that they would take your phone to leave a great review with it so I refused to give it to them. He still “needed to take a picture of my booking info because being short sightseeing” but then could read my translation app no problem… The room itself was good and the shuttle came to bring me to the airport (just a couple minutes late). The elevator stops one floor before the rooms so I almost left my suitcase downstairs but all the suitcases there were absolutely empty… it made me feel like they try to have people believe that they can leave they luggage down for the night but not with the best intentions. Regardless, I decided to bring it up and carry it in the stairs to feel better overnight. Cheap and okay room for one night near the airport, that’s all.

Facilities: Fully equipped. Hygiene: Neat and clean. Environment: Quiet and elegant. Service: Overall excellent. The transportation is convenient, and it would be even better if breakfast was available within the building. The price is affordable. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with this stay.

During our stay, we did not identify any significant shortcomings in the hotel. Its prime location, where it is easily accessible on foot to the Bund, was a notable feature. The room conditions were excellent, with thorough cleaning and hygiene measures in place, and the facilities functioned properly. The hotel’s amenities, such as the laundry facilities, added practical value and were more than just marketing gimmicks. The staff at the front desk, Xiao Qin and Xiao Wu, demonstrated professionalism and were able to efficiently address guests’ needs. Overall, considering the balance of cost and quality, this hotel is a safe and reliable choice, with strong performance across all aspects.

My stay at this hotel during my Shanghai trip far exceeded my expectations, it definitely deserves a full five-star rating! Both the service and the location were impeccable, making it my top choice for anyone visiting Shanghai. The front desk service was thoughtful and professional, making the entire process from check-in to check-out efficient and smooth. The staff were friendly and always ready to answer questions, proactively providing information on nearby attractions, subway transfers, and sightseeing tips. Their attention to detail made me feel welcome and at home from the moment I arrived. The location is truly a prime spot in the city center. Stepping out, you're right on Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, making shopping, dining, and exploring incredibly convenient. Strolling down the pedestrian street at night to enjoy the illuminated cityscape was particularly enjoyable. It's also within walking distance of Nanjing East Road Station for both Metro Lines 2 and 10. This double subway access makes getting to the Bund, Yu Garden, People's Square, and Lujiazui quick and hassle-free, saving a lot of travel time without long transfers. The hotel is also right next to Suzhou Creek; an evening stroll along the river, enjoying the breeze and views of both banks, offers a peaceful escape in the midst of the bustling city, maximizing comfort. [coffee emoji] The convenience for getting around is top-notch. Whether you're visiting attractions, on a business trip, or doing an in-depth food tour, you can easily reach any part of the city without wasting time on transportation. The rooms were clean, tidy, and well-soundproofed, ensuring a good night's sleep. They were also fully equipped and very comfortable. In conclusion, this hotel perfectly meets both travel and business needs with its excellent service, superb location, and convenient transportation. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Shanghai. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation near Nanjing Road East – you can book with confidence, you won't be disappointed!

Highly recommended! Amann Aethel Hotel is my top choice when visiting Shanghai. Sinnie at the front desk was incredibly warm and welcoming. The hotel's location is perfect, making travel to shopping areas and attractions super convenient. The room was spacious and clean, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the toiletries felt high-quality. The service was attentive and efficient, making my entire stay, from check-in to check-out, very pleasant. I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Shanghai!

We booked a family room and were later upgraded to a family balcony room with a view of Yu Garden. The night views of the Yu Garden lantern festival absolutely captivated us, so we went to see it and it was truly magnificent. The location is super convenient, close to Yu Garden station, making it easy to get to Nanjing Road, Grand Gateway, or explore Pudong. The hotel staff were very enthusiastic. Even during Chinese New Year when they were understaffed and fully booked, they actively helped us with our last-minute room change request. The hotel also organized daily entertainment activities, and we got to experience a shadow puppet show.

Exiting Pudong Airport Station on the Urban Rail Line, you'll find the elevator for the Airport Hotel right by Exit 2, very easy to spot. The hotel is divided into a South and North wing. It's about a 6-minute walk to T2 departures. The hotel is located between T1 and T2, and there are plenty of dining and drinking options within the airport concourse. The twin beds in the room can be moved together.

The windowless room was really stuffy, but everything else was okay. I mainly want to talk about the bathroom. The shower stall was incredibly tiny. There was no shelf to put anything on, and while I can overlook the lack of conditioner, I had nowhere to put my own conditioner, nor the towel. The showerhead only twisted to the right; no matter how much I turned it, it wouldn't rotate properly. What you see is after I managed to twist it a bit, but it just spun back as soon as I turned on the water. When the room door was locked, there was an intermittent beeping sound from the bottom. The room was quite soundproof, which was a good point.

Check-in was quick, the room was clean, and the breakfast offered a good variety, plus they even provided a thoughtful late-night snack. The hotel is about a 5-6 minute walk from Laoximen subway station, and both Yu Garden and Chenghuang Temple are within walking distance. The hotel also offers a free shuttle bus to different stops at various times throughout the day, which is very convenient for getting around. I stayed for two nights and overall had a good experience.

JJane.^If you're going to Disneyland, you *have* to stay at this hotel! We originally booked a B&B near Disneyland because we had the early entry pass, and the owner provided rides both in the morning and at night. But B&Bs just aren't the same as hotels. After our Disney trip, we checked into this Novotel, a brand I've always loved. I've stayed at several Novotels in Suzhou before, near Jinji Lake and Taihu Lake. After a full day at Disneyland, I was completely wiped out, and the hotel thoughtfully arranged a late-night snack for us. The next day, we slept in and enjoyed a fantastic breakfast – my child and I had so much fun. After relaxing a bit, we headed to the 5th floor for a workout. The late 2 PM checkout time was perfect; we got all the rest we needed before heading back to Suzhou! I'll definitely be back!

GGuest UserExcellent reception desk assistants, translating through phone app. English / Chinese Coffee /tea even massage chairs in reception. Room: Fantastic Beds were huge & comfortable - we had an upgrade to a larger room. The shower and shower toiletries were so refreshing. Towels were lovely soft & clean. Breakfast was the best I have had for a long time. Lived the rice, fried eggs, noodles , fruit vegetables. Even clams one morning. Great variety of drinks. The chief and staff were very happy & helpful. Extremely clean. I used the laundry room which also had a tumble dryer. This was useful due to travelling on to Beijing afterwards. The other family rooms have slides and are duplex. Sue the swimming pool is great in the summer. Excellent price , excellent choice for Families going to Disneyland and other local trips. Loved being able to go along the local street to see Shanghai local food, shops and life. Seems to be a family run business which is lovely to support. Location is great for the local shops , food, 7/11 supermarket for snacks & drinks Restaurants and food for locals which was delicious and a great price. Shuttle bus excellent. Taxi ( Didi) was £3 back from Disneyland . £11 to Shanghai Greenhouse Gardens ( evening ticket £5.40) this is an amazing trip not to be missed.

Llulu333100% recommend!!! I always stay in this hotel whenever I come to Shanghai! It's in a great area of the city and right across the road from Changshu Lu subway station (which has two subway lines on). The hotel has many rooms and is spread out on the 18th, 19th, and 20th floors of the building. Which means that there are incredible views of the city! I recommend paying a little extra and getting the room with a window, just for the view! The rooms are very clean with amazing bedding and pillows. You also have a personal TV, aircon, toiletries pack, bottle of water and slippers etc. There are water filter machines on each floor and usually free tea on the lobby floor. The staff are there 24 hours at the front desk, so you can check in anytime. The bathrooms are always really clean, and the cleaning ladies are always in out, making sure everything is nice. Bonus: The famous SYSTEM night club is also in the same building (around 3rd floor). So you can party and then go up to your room on the 19th floor!

GGuest UserThe front desk staff were really great; one of the male staff even gave me hot mineral water and local specialties when I left. When I couldn't get the hot water to work in my room, a female staff member was quick to help, and they personally delivered my takeaway orders to my room. There's also hot coffee available in the lobby. The hotel's close proximity to the subway is another plus. The only downsides were having to get up early for breakfast to avoid queuing for a table, and there's only one elevator. The room was a bit small and the facilities were older, but it was very clean and quiet. Also, it looked like some of the toiletries had been used, but thankfully I hadn't brought many of my own. Overall, it was a comfortable stay.

SShanghai based coupleAs a couple who has lived in Shanghai together for almost 10 years, with one of us also Shanghainese, we have been to a lot of the best places in Shanghai, and some of the more recommended places in about 20 cities in the broader nearby area. Nothing in the city or within several hours of high-speed rail compares to a stay at Ritz-Carlton Pudong. In Asia and indeed the planet, this impeccable hotel experience stands as an iconic example of old-world elegance and service. In addition, it also offers a unique view of both some of the most modern and tallest buildings and the city’s famed Bund riverside, home to a variety of art deco architectural masterpieces. We had the incredible good fortune to start our honeymoon at the Ritz in Pudong, and this last stay was our last honeymoon treat. As always, it was a spectacular experience that we cannot recommend enough. The most extraordinary part of the stay really is the staff, they are all world class people who go above and beyond to make the Ritz-Carlton Pudong such an exceptional institution in one of the world’s leading cities. Sincere thanks to the whole team for making this happen, including Cherryl, who made reservation delightfully effortless, Chris who helped us to our room, and Joey and Ruby who helped in the evening. Special and heartfelt thanks to the whole team who make the Club Lounge experience world beating: Eddie and Junita, who both lead by example, have a deep passion for the details that create excellence, as well as being just the nicest people. They are both incredibly inspiring leaders and professionals. Claire is generally excellent there but also was phenomenally helpful to get a bag back when it was left behind, we really apricated that. Jeramy and Vivian also are amazing, as are Club Lounge’s chef’s Joe and Austin. Sherry is a real star, attentive, sharp and so helpful. Last but not least, Helen, who was the first person to greet us after we got married, and fittingly the last person to help us create personalised room key cards with our wedding photo on it, and most recently a special photo of family from our honeymoon. Those keycards are really cool keepsakes, but making them is not as simple as you might think: the image is etched into the key, not printed, so the original photo needs to be translated by AI into an image that the etching system is capable of delivering, which is really impressive. When I showed my mom who lives very far away, even she was impressed with Helen’s work. Ordinarily we prioritise new experiences over more of the same, regardless of how comfortable and nice it is. But regardless of how hard we try, we have not been able to figure out a better way to celebrate our biggest moments than a stay at the Ritz in Pudong.

GGuest UserStayed at the Banyan Tree on the Bund with my parents during Chinese New Year. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly warm and patient. The rooms are genuinely spacious, and the scallion oil noodles for breakfast were absolutely delicious – a must-order every morning! The hotel's location is also excellent, in North Bund. When choosing a hotel, I was debating whether to stay directly on the Bund, and now I'm so glad I didn't. It's truly too crowded there during peak tourist season. This location is much better, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. And here's the best part: we got upgraded to a Bund river-view room, and the view was absolutely unbeatable. The room rate felt entirely worth it. Next time I'm in Shanghai, Banyan Tree will definitely be my top choice.
