Travelers Reviews of Inner Mongolia Hotels

Hanbei Business Hotel Hohhot
8.8/556 Reviews
The hotel is about 4 kilometers away from the highway. The hotel is very convenient for parking and dining. There is a gas station more than 100 meters away from the hotel, so it is a good choice to take a break as a self-driving tour. In addition, hotel services and facilities are also good.
Saibei Station (Kubuqi Desert Wokuotai Branch)

Me, my wife, and 3y/o daughter took a family trip to Saibei Inn for October Golden Week 2023, and the experience was great. We were not interested in the normal Inner Mongolia trips that some agencies offer since they are travel intensive, so we stayed for 5 days and 5 nights in this location. If you’re solo or couple travelers, you might want to consider a few less days and do the more intensive trips to the grasslands, etc. Having been to Inner Mongolia previously, we knew what to expect (slow pace/relaxing/nature), however, my expectations were exceeded with the amount of land and activities that Saibei Inn offered! We were able to take a RZR to the desert every morning and give our daughter and ourselves some play-time, plus relaxation, as the desert area is huge and never busy. We saw a wild camel, went sledding, and walked the endless dunes. A car is quite necessary and almost everyone had one, but since we didn’t have one, the boss personally brought us out to get snacks, drinks, and such to keep in our hotel, set up airport pickup and drop-off in Baotou, and took us on any excursions we wanted. The dune buggy sunset ride was a thrill and nearby desert camel rides, “flying boat”, and zip line were appealing attractions as well. The downside were the bathrooms were a bit difficult to navigate since they have a wet shower and take time to dry, plus the shower head was constantly leaking, leaving a wet puddle in the middle. The carpet held the sand and plant material which also contained thorns, so could use more regular vacuuming, The lunch/dinner food was exceptional. The veteran cooks there have a natural knack for cooking great Chinese food with unique tastes. The actual menu is quite small, but the boss was more than happy to take our order in advance and buy the food we wanted at the local market for the next day’s meal. They also can cook virtually anything you want and have a load of different things in the kitchen, which can be seen from the seating area via a viewing window spanning the length of the entire wall. It was apparent that their meats were cooked over a long period of time, including tender stew-style beef & potatoes, and of courses delicious mutton! The downside of the food was that you couldn’t get out of there without spending a pretty penny. And being the only restaurant within miles/kilometers, you don’t have much of a choice. Another aspect that could be improved is the breakfast. There was a choice of mantou bread, porridge, and boiled eggs. All with very little flavor or appeal. We opted not to eat breakfast 4 out of the 5 days. Opt for bringing some protein bars, yogurt, or packaged breakfast if you stay, especially with toddler. The facilities and environment were fairly well-kept. The Inn was also under construction, not loud or anything, but there is a plan to expand and its evident with a few areas that have rubble around and whatnot. Having said that we were not disturbed by that aspect because we were not there for a pampered and pristine vacation. We stayed in the white yurts on the hill with 2 beds, and overall, the room was cosy and great during the chilly October mornings (A/C has heat) and beds were comfortable.

Zalantun Downtown Area
The rooms are spacious and clean. The facilities are complete and a bit old. Quiet environment, close to the suspension bridge park and the Middle East Railway Museum. The hotel has a large parking lot for easy parking. The air conditioning in the room does not heat up, there is no heating at this time, the hotel has no other heating equipment, it feels a bit cold to sleep at night, I hope the hotel can improve it.

Inner Mongolia Hospital / neidabei campus / Agricultural University / Normal University
It should be an old hotel, the quality and service are still very good, the lobby concierge is very thoughtful and enthusiastic. The room is clean and sanitary, the hotel park environment is elegant, after breakfast, go to the park for a walk, the air is good, quiet in the bustling city. The breakfast is very good, with Mongolian specialties. Although I don't eat many of them, I can still experience the characteristics of Mongolia.

This is really a treasure place. It is close to the viaduct, and the transportation is very convenient. There is a bus at the door, and the viaduct is right outside the door. The parking lot is also very large. The service at the front desk is very attentive and thoughtful. I wanted to mail some large items on the day I was leaving. The front desk helped me compare three or four express logistics companies, and finally helped me pick the cheapest one. Then when the courier was collected, in order to help me save the cost of packaging cartons, I ran back and forth several times, and finally helped me find two very large cartons to mail the courier smoothly. This kind of employee who always thinks of the guests is really great! ! ! I will definitely come again if I have the chance in the future
Orange Hotel (Tongliao Wanda Plaza)

Tongliao Wanda Plaza
The hotel is in a good location, just over 10 minutes' walk to Wanda, with many choices for food. Downstairs is the hotel's own parking lot 🅿, which is convenient for parking. The facilities of a newly opened hotel are relatively new, and there is almost no taste. There are many varieties of breakfast. The yam, sweet potato, and corn that I like are all gathered together. I can't eat too much. I cooked wontons and cooked half a portion. The kitchen lady also kindly told me how many half portions there were and asked if it was enough. ~ Good reviews ~ The laundry room is open all day without limit. The overall stay was not bad. I will book again next time

Drum Tower/Victoria Moore city/The General's Office
This hotel can be very hit & miss. I have stayed here 3 times and had 3 different experiences. First things first, though, it is worth pointing out that location is excellent, especially for its price, and staff are always very friendly, and often have a decent level of English, as well as Mandarin & Mongolian (almost every guest I ever see here speaks Mongolian). My first stay here, I had no complaints. The room was clean, comfortable, & spacious. An excellent room at its price, if just slightly dated. My next stay was totally different. I was told upon checking in that my room didn't have a shower but I could move the next day. Not ideal after a day of travelling but I was tired so accepted it and went to bed. The next evening, I returned to the hotel & was told I still couldn't move, & had to wait another day (the day I was checking out). I managed to convince staff to let me move eventually as I really needed a shower, & there was a room available - so why couldn't I just be there in the first place? My third and final stay was also disappointing, though not as bad as the second. Upon checking in, there was a huge group who had checked in just before me - not ideal, but little you can do. But only one elevator was working, and would only hold around 3 or 4 people at a time. So it genuinely took almost half an hour to get to my room. Then, for some reason, the elevator call button on my floor didn't work. Fortunately I found a staff elevator that took me out the back exit and had to use this for the rest of my stay - but that somewhat reduced the convenience of the location. All in all, while I appreciate the price and location here, I have started using other hotels when I visit Hohhot now.
Vyluk Hotel (Hohhot Xinhua Plaza)

Hohhot Railway Station/Hailiang Square/Xinhua Square
Had an incredible stay at Vyluk Hotel. The location is awesome. Surrounded by the city’s top shopping destination, and wedged evenly between two metro stations that give easy access to the rest of the city. Service was outstanding and the staff handled the foreigner registration process without issue. They also upgraded us to a city view room which was spectacular. There were many lights within the room which could be toggled by the bilingual wall buttons. Free water and toiletries are provided. The enclosed shower was great, as was the shampoo provided. The hotel does have the coveted delivery robot, so whether it’s ordering food delivery or getting extra tissues sent up, the robot comes right to your door and you receive a call to the in-room phone. Room service came on our second day and cleaned the place up. Nothing but the best to say in regards to this hotel. I should not the gym and pool were closed. The only issue I had with this hotel is that on Trip it goes by Vyluk Hotel and I believeI saw that name come up on one other map and that is it. There are no mentions of “Vyluk” outside or inside of the hotel which did make it harder to find given that there are several others nearby. The Chinese name is also not a transliteration but rather called Wei Lai 蔚徕. Nonetheless, I would 100% stay here over any other nearby hotels given the quality, service, and price which was half of those nearby.

Xilamuren grassland tourism and holiday reception center
8.6/5263 Reviews
About 3 kilometers west of Xilamuren Town, deep in the grassland, the exterior is in the style of a yurt, the interior of a standard room is newly renovated, the whole house is intelligently voice-controlled, and the bathroom is also quite spacious. The day before check-in, the hotel staff called to inquire about the arrival time. They said that they would perform the ceremony of offering Hada and drinking wine at the door. When the car drove to the parking lot, they saw the staff welcoming us. Although the ceremony of offering Hada and drinking wine at the end was very hasty, it still happened. The staff came to introduce the facilities in the room to us. Later, they introduced some consumption items. The prices were relatively high. There was a bonfire party in the park at night. You can also watch the bonfire party while eating skewers. Generally speaking, it is very good to have such facilities in the depths of the grassland.
