We stayed at FOGGY VALLEY (张家界雾里观阵山民宿) for four unforgettable nights, and it was truly a memorable experience 💖. My husband and I will cherish the beautiful memories we made here for a long time 🥰 [Warm Welcome and Thoughtful Care] From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality from 阿升(Asheng)管家, 胡(Hu)管家, and all the staff was evident 😊. They worked seamlessly to ensure every guest felt genuinely welcomed and well cared for 💬 [Comfortable Transportation and Meticulous Scheduling] Before check-in, we arranged a pick-up service from the train station to the guesthouse via WeChat. Thanks to Hu’s careful scheduling, the driver was waiting for us upon arrival, ensuring a smooth and relaxing journey. This thoughtful preparation helped reduce any tension in the unfamiliar location 🚖 [Romantic Gestures and Quick Support] On the first day, my husband prepared a bouquet of roses 🌹. While I rested in our room, Hu accompanied him to the florist and translated. It felt like reliving our honeymoon 💕. Furthermore, when I accidentally left a bag containing important medication in a taxi the day before check-in, Hu quickly contacted the relevant parties 📞. In just three hours, he retrieved the bag and brought it to my room 🛡️ [Scenic Drop-off Services and Thoughtful Attention] Asheng, Hu, and a female staff member ensured safe and comfortable transport for each trip 🚙. They confirmed our plans, reminded us of tickets, and Asheng was always there to watch over us when returning late. Hu also picked us up from 72 Kiru, and we were very grateful ☺. Their care ensured a safe journey every time. [Prompt Solutions for Small Challenges] When we mentioned the inconvenience of charging our phones due to different plug standards 🔌, both Asheng and Hu promptly provided adapters, effectively solving the issue ⚡ [Rich Cultural Experience and Stunning Natural Beauty] FOGGY VALLEY’s surroundings were breathtaking. The views from the guesthouse were magical—morning mist resembling a dream and illuminated mountains at night 🌄. After visiting, I appreciated the value of the traditional Xiangxi architecture more and hope to explore more next time. The scenery, reminiscent of the mythical ”Peach Blossom Spring,” brought a sense of tranquility. [Special Services and Custom Experiences] The Chinese breakfast included warm dumplings and various options 🍲. The warm beef noodle soup, coffee machine, soy milk, yogurt, salad, fruit, and toast were great. The local berry tea and nuts were perfect for hikes 🌳. The complimentary laundry service made our stay more comfortable 🧺. The automatic curtain system brightened the mornings, and the premium bedding ensured a restful night’s sleep. [Traditional Programs and Photography Spots] The guesthouse offered programs like tea tasting and meditation, allowing guests to experience traditional Chinese culture 🧘🫖. The scenic spots around were perfect for capturing memories on SNS, enhancing our experience. [Looking Forward to Our Next Visit] Thinking of my father’s upcoming retirement, I wanted to visit again with my parents. I’d love to share the peacefulness and rich experiences 🌳. Our time here reminded me that “Travel is ultimately about people.” The warm hospitality and special memories will remain in our hearts 💓. I highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone planning a trip to Zhangjiajie ✅. Thank you to all the staff, who felt like friends and family. It’s a blessing to have crossed paths with them. We look forward to visiting again 🌺

We had the best service of our trip at this hotel- they truly go beyond and above. It was only a 15min Didi from the train station, also the bus shuttle from HSR to the city is right in front of the hotel. The location is perfectly situated at one side of the main bridge, but a nice 5min stroll away such that you are away from the noise on the main strip (in front of the river). Also, no mosquitoes. We initially booked a riverfront hotel but I am SO glad that we changed to this hotel after actually walking the whole tourist strip on foot. Legit the cobblestones near the river are terrible, and cars can’t get in so it’d have been a nightmare. Next, Xiao Dai (小代) who helped us and the manager were all so sweet. 小代answered all our WeChat questions extremely promptly (literally 1-2mins), and when we asked about the free laundry self use machine onsite, she offered to have us leave it in our room and do it for us so we could go out and explore. I thought this was truly above and beyond- she picked the clothes up from our room, washed them (separately as well for colours and whites), hung them and sent us a photo, dried them and returned them to us folded and freshly laundered. We were simply floored by this level of service. They are so so so kind and I can’t recommend this hotel enough for their kindness and eagerness to ensure your comfort during your stay. We stayed on the 7th floor in a suite and it was very comfortable- the bed itself and pillows were just right. Sheets felt high quality, pillows not too stiff and high, duvet was fluffy and nice. I liked that the toilet is separated from the shower and vanity- the soft but bright filtered lighting for the bathroom vanity was amazing for getting ready (for the girls who are sick of hotels with dark lighting and can’t do their make up). The room was spacious and although some aspects were a bit outdated, it was clean large and comfortable - we were so happy with our room. They also gave our group of 3 girls 4 room cards which allows for each card to breakfast. The breakfast ayis were so nice and made eggs freshly your way when asked. The cucumber and radish pickles were yummy and we really liked the corn soup and congee as well as all the vegetable dishes. The selection was good for us, as we like clean and simple, easy to digest and nutritious foods in the morning. Oh yeah they also sent us to the HSR on check out without charge, in the hotel’s car. They were so prompt in getting us to the HSR and the driver was really considerate, safe and careful. Literally the most calm drive we’ve experienced in China. Side note- the gym is massive and looks largely unused but the equipment is good, there are weights and cables and everything. There’s also a pool table and table tennis. A yoga room complete with a good amount of gear and mats.
Miss Inn (Zhangjiajie Forest Park Biaozhimen)

The inn is near the East Gate, at the foot of the Forest Park. It is very convenient to eat and shop around. It only takes 10 minutes to walk to the East Gate. The location is great. You can also add the owner's WeChat in advance. He can help plan a very detailed tour route, so that we can travel with less worries and take fewer detours. He can also book tickets for the scenic spot on behalf of us. The price is very affordable, dozens of yuan cheaper than the official website. The environment of the B&B is very beautiful. There is a stream in front of the inn. You can go to play in the water, watch the night view, eat barbecue, drink beer, sing karaoke, etc. at night. The room we stayed in was a mountain view room, and you can enjoy the beautiful peaks of the Forest Park from the window. This trip, I was very satisfied with the accommodation I chose, and the owner was also very nice. It would be unreasonable not to give a good review.

Overall, this was a pleasant stay and I will book again if I visit Qiyang again. We had 2 adults and 2 young children. Wishing to stay together in one room, they happily allowed this and waived any additional charge for breakfast for my 2 kids. The place was clean and very comfortable. Whilst the rooms are very clean some mould is starting to colour on the waterproof sealing in the shower. I hope the hotel keeps the clean appearance with a bit of bleach cleaning on the mould. Another great plus is that they have 2 free to use washing machines and 2 dryers. I hand washed stained clothes in my room and use the machines for the final wash. It became one of the things I did whilst the wait was used to train in the gym next to the laundry area. The gym was rudimentary but if you know how to train, bringing in a couple of training bands will be adequate. The bench is a bit wobbly so watch out for that. The location of the hotel is perfect with a large park opposite. For western visitors, I think they need to understand a few things about hotels in non-first tier city in Mainland China and specifically Qiyang. 1) Yes, most things are in Puntonghua (including the room's voice control AI) although the front desk staff can communicate in basic English. 2) The breakfast food buffet is distinctly catered to local tastes, so you won't get western style croissants, sausages, bacon and eggs. What you will get is the delicious freshly made noodles and boiled eggs, steamed rice bus, fried noodles, fried rice, spicy fried pork and beef, with congee and Chinese style broth. If you want western breakfast, you need to go to local McDonalds which is a 5 minute taxi ride away. 3) That brings me on to taxis. On the plus, its cheap. Most taxis charge around RMB10-20 (USD 1.40 -2.40) for a 2 mile radius. On the negative, you need to be able to get one and the hotel doesn't have a taxi call service, not by any fault of the hotel but by the lack of committed taxi drivers who are willing to work with the hotel, so very much hail on the street yourself kind of thing. 4) There is a KTV on the 3rd floor of the hotel but that is normal for a big Qiyang hotel. I would definitely recommend one of the higher floors if you want a little less noise. 5) And yes, there is literally one or two German cockroaches in the room at night but luckily not a serious infestation level. That is expected for rural places like Qiyang especially where the origin of the infestation may not be at the hotel itself.

We recently enjoyed a fantastic one-week stay at the Harmona Spa and Resort in Zhangjiajie, and we couldn't be more pleased with our experience. From the moment we arrived, the personalized service made us feel right at home. The staff went above and beyond to assist us with logistics, arranging everything from tickets to transportation, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay. The 24/7 attention was impeccable, and the beautiful location and facilities added to the charm of the resort, we got a feeling of Avatar 2.0 One highlight was the great variety offered at breakfast, which we thoroughly enjoyed each morning. Both of the resort’s restaurants served excellent food, adding to our overall dining pleasure. A special mention goes to the staff members who made our stay exceptional: Johnny and Shan received us warmly on the night we arrived, Cherry and Monica, who not only provided excellent service but also entertained us with their beautiful singing and fun personalities; Pink, who was incredibly helpful, proactive in planning our activities, and quick to resolve any issues T hank you to Mao Mengfan, who hosted us with an amazing barbecue at Flower Valley, Luna from the Chinese restaurant, who provided amazing service; Nikki and Fenfen from the front desk, who were always welcoming and efficient; and Josie from the bar, who made our karaoke night unforgettable with creative cocktails. Lastly, big thank you to Mr. Li who took great care of our luggage, ensuring it reached the airport when we couldn't return from Tianmen Mountain in time. We loved every moment of our stay at Harmona Spa and Resort and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Zhangjiajie. Victoria & Alexander

Perhaps one of the best homestay I have ever stay in China! The overall service was excellent. Mr Li, the boss of the homestay personally picked me from the airport. Being a foreigner, there is a problem in retrieving the Zhangjiajie health code, fortunately I managed to get it sorted out by the airport security. Mr Li called me several times as he was wondering if I gave any issue since all passengers have existed the airport and there is no sight of me coming out. We drove around 30 minutes to the homestay. As it was rather late when I arrived, Mr Li asked if I needed any dinner and will get his colleague to prepare for me. Upon arrival at the homestay, I was greeted by Ms Xiao Liu, a young pretty girl who patiently explain about the walking route for several sightseeing places. She was knowledgeable and the information given to me was very clear. What I particularly like was the energy saving, as the staircase up to my room is installed with sensor control and lit-up as soon as there is movement. My room was upgraded to a higher category which was very spacious with a bathtub and lounging area at the balcony. The room was simple but well decorated. Great views overlooking the mountain. As it was snowing the day before I arrived, the sofa was covered with snow. The next day I had breakfast at another building. The breakfast venue was located next to the swimming pool. Breakfast was simple with a nice bowl of hot noodles during the winter. The ladies that worked behind the kitchen offered me fried egg to go along with my noodles. After my breakfast, Mr Li drove me to the Wulingyuan National Park entrance which is less than 10 minutes ride. After my excursion, Mr Zhao the manager of the homestay, fetched me back to the homestay. I ordered some dumplings and it was yummy. Ms Xiao Li made me a cup of tea to go with the dumplings. My room was cleaned upon my return. Hygiene was good and housekeeper did a get job. The bed was comfortable, however the pillows were a little soft for me. The only setback was the lighting in the bathroom was not bright enough when applying make-up. As my flight was in the evening, Mr Zhao fetch me to the Tianmen tourist centre as I would like visit the Tianmen mountain before my departure. I had a fabulous stay and the service offered by everyone was excellent. I will definitely return again on my next trip to Zhangjiajie.
Zhangjiajie Mido Inn (Wulingyuan East Gate)

My stay at Zhangjiajie Mido Inn was nothing short of a restorative journey, a much-needed reprieve after receiving less-than-ideal results from my recent CT scan. As a cancer patient, I was seeking more than just a place to rest—I needed an experience that would uplift my spirits, and the Mido Inn, along with its caretaker Wu, delivered exactly that. Upon arriving at the inn, I was greeted by Wu, whose warm and welcoming demeanor immediately put me at ease. He seemed to sense that I needed more than just a room; I needed an escape, a way to reconnect with nature and find peace amidst my worries. Wu went above and beyond, providing me with a hand-drawn map of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and crafting a personalized itinerary that perfectly suited my pace and interests. Wu’s local insights were invaluable. He knew the park like the back of his hand and took the time to highlight lesser-known trails and viewpoints that offered stunning vistas without the crowds. His suggestions were exactly what I needed—places where I could take in the breathtaking beauty of the park and reflect, without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. The inn itself was cozy and felt like a home away from home. Each evening, after a day of exploring, I returned to a warm and comfortable space that offered solace and tranquility. The location of the inn was ideal, nestled close enough to the park to make early starts easy, yet far enough away to provide a quiet retreat. During my two-day tour of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, I experienced moments of pure awe that felt almost like a healing process. Standing at the edge of towering cliffs, surrounded by the iconic sandstone pillars, I found a sense of peace that had eluded me in the sterile environment of hospital rooms and medical appointments. The park’s natural beauty, combined with Wu’s thoughtful guidance, allowed me to truly immerse myself in the moment, leaving my health concerns behind, if only for a little while. Wu’s genuine kindness and eagerness to help made my time in Zhangjiajie not just successful, but deeply fulfilling. His assistance turned what could have been a standard stay into something truly special. As I left Zhangjiajie, I felt a renewed sense of hope and strength, carrying with me memories of not just the breathtaking landscapes, but of the kindness of a stranger who made a world of difference in my journey.
Furong Town Baihe Inn (Xigu Huagu Branch)

Furong Ancient Town
The room is a little small but sufficient, and the lights are a little dim. Huazhu next to the hotel provides ethnic costumes for self-photographing, free pick-up at the station, and 20 one-way drop-off at the station. A bag of local rice was given at check-out. It is a warm inn with a cheap price. It is on the outskirts of the ancient town. There are performances in the town at night, which are quite noisy, but the inn is relatively quiet. Welcome fruits: cherry tomatoes, oranges 🍊, etc. Breakfast: handmade big buns, thin and soft skin, very delicious. Wontons and rice noodles are freshly cooked.

When I was writing the guide, I saw that the reviews were so good that I thought the boss asked his friends to write them for me. I didn't know it was really good until I came here. It can almost be described as perfect! First of all, it is very quiet here. There is no noise interference in the city when sleeping at night. Instead, there is the sound of insects and wind like white noise, which can really improve the quality of sleep a lot👍 Secondly, the boss advocates organic diet. Almost all the poultry and vegetables provided are self-raised, and the diet is pesticide-free and antibiotic-free. Even the breakfast eggs are domestic eggs. You can tell the taste is different as soon as you put them in your mouth. This is really great👍 Secondly, the boss is almost responsive and flexible: the food we can't finish can be refrigerated and processed the next day. Because the high-speed rail time is late, there is no room reservation on that day. For our rest, we also helped us to extend the check-out until 5 pm. This is a convenience that standard hotels don't have👍 It's clean and hygienic here, the architecture has the characteristics of the Tujia people, the food is delicious - I strongly recommend the local chicken soup, there is a fish pond for children to play - there are big fish in the fish pond, men can fish, and the boss is also friendly. If we have to choose between a five-star hotel and this special B&B, we will definitely choose here again💗 Friends can go with confidence!
