"The hallway in front of the lift was covered with dust and hairs during our two-night stay. No kidding, for two days those hairs were in the same spots. We asked for the second bedroom to be set with twin beds, but they set both rooms with twin beds. We went to the front desk and explained what went wrong. After dinner, both bedrooms were rearranged to king beds. The indoor swimming pool wasn't heated, or I should say Hilton's indoor pool was much warmer, and the sauna was better too. I heard it was the Gold Coast Show Day, so they were very busy. But I don't think that is an excuse for not delivering standard services. (I wasn't expecting high-quality service due to the show day, but at least keeping it standard). Great view, no doubt!"

"We had a wonderful stay at this grand and impressive hotel. The service was truly first class, with attentive and professional staff throughout our visit. The facilities are also first class, although the rain shower in our room was not functioning properly and could use some attention. The restaurant was excellent, and the convenient parking made our stay even more comfortable. One of the highlights was the beautiful view of the Brisbane River, which added to the overall experience. Overall, a luxurious hotel with excellent service, great facilities, a fantastic restaurant, and a beautiful location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return."

"The room was quite small, but adequate for a one night stay. It was nicely presented and clean. Staff were friendly. Having a pool and bar/restaurant on the door step was great. Very central to town. The downside was being a Saturday night it was extremely noisy with traffic and music from the nearby night clubs. If you want to sleep I would not recommend it for a Saturday night."

"I expected much better from a hotel carrying the Ramada name. We arrived just after midnight, exactly as we had advised the hotel in advance. To our surprise, the entrance gates were locked. There was a phone number on the gate to call for assistance, but despite repeated calls, nobody answered. We could see reception from outside, and could clearly hear the phone ringing, but there was no one there to help. After standing on the roadside for around 15 minutes with two tired children in the middle of the night, I ended up climbing over the locked fence just to unlock the gate from the inside so my family could enter. Once inside, we rang the reception bell several times before anyone appeared. Around 20 minutes later, the receptionist (a gentleman with long hair) eventually arrived. Rather than apologising for leaving a family locked outside at midnight, he simply said he had been ”dealing with something”, that there were ”100 guests and just him”, and told us, ”you need patience.” Those are his exact words. I appreciate that staff can be busy, but this was a complete failure of customer service. An apology would have gone a long way. Instead, we were met with rudeness and a dismissive attitude. It was one of the worst customer service experiences I have encountered. The hotel itself was also disappointing. The photos on the website appear to be either very old or heavily enhanced. The grounds look nothing like the promotional images—there are no palm trees as shown, and the swimming pool sits right beside the car park, giving it a very different feel from what is advertised. The one major positive is the location. It's within easy walking distance of the city centre, which was extremely convenient. Unfortunately, because of the poor customer service on arrival and the misleading impression created by the website photos, I would not choose to stay here again"

"The location is excellent, about a 5-minute walk to the ferry terminal. There are also many supermarkets and restaurants nearby, and both the Kuranda Railway station and the weekend market are within walking distance. There were two Japanese women at the front desk when I was there. They were very kind and helpful, which made me feel at ease (though they might not always be there). The lounge space on the second floor was also great for taking a short break or organizing my luggage before leaving. I had a room with a balcony and could see a beautiful sunset. The facilities felt a bit old, but overall, I think it was a good stay. For Australia, it offered great value for money and contributed to a wonderful trip."

"This stay exceeded my expectations! The location is fantastic, making it incredibly convenient for getting around, shopping, and dining. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was so soft I slept soundly. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, and the hot water supply was consistently good. The front desk staff were warm, polite, and handled check-in and check-out very efficiently, responding quickly to any requests. The facilities were well-maintained, and the environment was quiet and peaceful. Overall, it offers incredible value for money. I would definitely choose this place again on my next visit and highly recommend it to anyone traveling!"

"Stayed for 2 nights with a friend. The staff were very kind and helpful! Even if you don't speak English, you can still communicate (there are Japanese-speaking staff too). The room had small ants, so it might bother some people. However, the bed and bathroom were clean. We arrived early in the morning and were allowed to wait in the guest room until our tour started! I'll definitely stay here again."

"Magnums Airlie Beach: My Honest Review After Three Nights I spent three nights at Magnums Airlie Beach and chose a self-contained cabin with a large bed and private bathroom. Magnums offers a unique accommodation style. The cabins are nestled among lush tropical greenery, so even though you're practically in the heart of Airlie Beach, inside the property, it feels like you're living in a forest. 📍 Location – The Main Advantage It's close to shops, cafes, restaurants, the lagoon, and the boardwalk. I walked to all the main spots in the center. This is especially convenient if you're traveling without a car or if you're heading out early in the morning for excursions to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. 🛏 My Cabin The room was spacious and clean. Inside, there was a large bed, air conditioning, a TV, a refrigerator, a table, Wi-Fi, and towels. The cabin also had its own small veranda. Despite the central location and proximity to bars, it was quiet in my cabin in the evenings – I didn't hear any noise. Perhaps this depends on where your room is located on the property. 🍳 Communal Kitchen Magnums has a large communal kitchen that I used several times. You can genuinely cook a full meal there: there are stoves, microwaves, air fryers, toasters, sandwich presses, utensils, and large refrigerators. In Australia, where dining out can be expensive, this is a helpful way to cut costs. 👩‍💼 Staff Check-in was very pleasant. My cabin became available earlier, so the staff didn't make me wait until the official time and gave me the keys right away. The staff were friendly and willing to help. What seemed odd: the door inside the cabin was noticeably smaller than the door frame and didn't close it completely. For one person, this wasn't an issue, but for two people, such a design might affect the sense of privacy. My rating is 8 out of 10.
