Title: Perfect Weekend Getaway at Spyglass Inn, Pismo Beach I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Spyglass Inn in Pismo Beach, and it was a great experience. Nestled in a prime location, this inn offers easy access to the best of the area's natural beauty and recreational activities. Proximity to the beach is unbeatable. Waking up to the serene views of the ocean and the calming sound of the waves was a daily highlight. The beach itself is clean and inviting, perfect for both sunbathing and very peaceful at dawn and sunset. The area boasts several scenic hiking trails. We took advantage of these and were rewarded with breathtaking views and the chance to reconnect with nature. Food options around Spyglass Inn also added to the charm of our stay. We indulged in some local cuisine that was as delicious as it was diverse. From fresh seafood to hearty breakfasts, plus a great steak in Arroyo Grande, 5 min drive. The inn itself provides a wonderful atmosphere to unwind. The room was comfortable and well-maintained, offering all the amenities needed for a relaxing retreat. The staff was friendly and helpful when needed, going out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant stay. Overall, our weekend at the Spyglass Inn was a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a rejuvenating getaway in a picturesque setting. Whether you're an avid hiker, a beach lover, or just in need of some peaceful downtime, Spyglass Inn is an ideal choice.

Similar to the domestic express hotel, the facilities in the room are relatively simple. It should be considered that the locals will live more and there is no breakfast. However, it is quite convenient to go out on the street outside the street. The parking is convenient and there is an open-air swimming pool.

Newly remodeled location close to town. Ample parking. The walls are a bit thin and you will hear some noise within the hotel. Nowhere to set your suit except on the ground. In room coffee maker and mini fridge. Our stay started off on a slightly bad note as we did not receive an email from the hotel with our room number or the code to enter. Upon arrival which was around 3 to 4 in the afternoon I had to ring the buzzer at the front door as the facility is not staffed. The innkeeper was quite unhappy that as he stated multiple times “it would take him at least 5 minutes to arrive”. He kept insisting I should go through my emails and find the code I was sent. I found a code Trip. Com sent me but that apparently was not the hotel entry code and did not have my room number. Frustrating way to start our relaxing weekend.

Waiting in line for coffee was an annoyance but still didn’t diminish the luxury feel of my stay. The largest inconvenience was the gates after 10. My first time someone was waiting there right away, but the second time I had to exit my vehicle and call from the buzzer to no answer. I only got voicemail. Eventually got in, but I was very uncomfortable in that dark area by myself, and it took long enough for someone else to pull in behind me. I appreciated the super convenient filtered water and laundry amenities that I wish were standard everywhere. I asked for a printed receipt, but their printer was down and they assured me I’d get an email, which I haven’t. Trip.com does not seem to have registered that I completed my stay, so there is something iffy among their booking and trip.com’s ledger.

If you are a pet owner this is an exceptional property and even otherwise it's a hidden gem. Surprisingly low vagrant activity on the property and the outside lighting is fair. Probably why the management can be nosey and pushy. You get a used car salesman feel at the front desk but, the stay is worth it, if they don't become passive aggressive with you. It does have that California 'control everything' type nuances....Rooms are clean, you won't be afraid to get into the beds or use the furniture. Small accommodating pool and staff doesn't make you uncomfortable using it. Cool location overlooking dog beach in OB, if you are lucky enough to get the ocean facing side. I do recommend this property.

It's a kind of motel. If you planning to stay here, remember to prepare for drinking water. Tap water is not drinkable, but hotel doesn't provide water dispenser ( instead only ice dispenser, which I think stupid for the weather there is cold), and even no bottled water at all in the room, also no water kettle. Shops are quiet far, have to drive, and closed a bit early. So if you came late, no water, it might be a big problem. The room and bed is quite ok though.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel during our family trip. The location was ideal, and our room featured a spacious balcony with stunning sunset views. The room itself was decent and the bathroom was clean, with a comfortable shower. Breakfast was a delight, and the check-in and check-out services were warm and efficient. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations and added a special touch to our trip. Highly recommended!

I stayed at the Colony Inn with my 2 adult daughters for 10 nights whilst one of them attended a dance program in North Hollywood. The location was perfect for our needs - close to the studio and walking distance to public transport and a variety of food vendors. The Hotel is basic but clean and well maintained. A hair dryer and iron were available on request. The room was serviced each day.
